NSANDA: Esther And I Are Very Single ‘She Comes To My House, I Go To Her House. She Is A Nice Girl’
WILLIE Nsanda says he and female boxing icon, Esther Phiri, are both “very single” and there is nothing wrong with them being ‘friends’.
And Nsanda says he is man enough to protect Esther from “those planning evil” against her.
Meanwhile, Esther has told the police that she is not aware of any planned wedding between herself and Nsanda.
Police have since arrested Sunday Mwanza, 31, the husband to Alice Phiri who allegedly planned a wedding between Esther and Nsanda by ‘swindling’ people recruited for a purported bridal party.
In an interview after police arrested Mwanza following complaints of fraud over an alleged wedding between himself and Esther, Nsanda, a Lusaka businessman and former PF Chimwemwe member of parliament, said there was nothing wrong with him being friends with the boxer and insisted that they had never planned any wedding.
“If I decide to marry Esther today, would it be a bad thing? I don’t think so, she is a nice girl. There is nothing wrong with me being her friend. She comes to my house, I go to her house. There is no complainant against us because we are both very single,” he said.
“And those who think I insulted when I asked those who asked me if I had impregnated Esther that ‘is there anyone who has never slept with a man or woman here’, then I don’t understand why they call that insult. Are they forgetting that Jesus had asked people who didn’t want him to talk to a woman who had sinned if there was no one among them who had not sinned? Jesus told them (his disciples) that ‘let he who has not sinned cast the first stone’.”
And Nsanda said people who were circulating stories that Esther had attempted to commit suicide after an alleged difference with him had the potential to harm the latter.
“They can even kill her. But what they should know is that I will look after her (Esther). I am man enough to do that,” said Nsanda.
“There are some people who are up to no good at all. They want to destroy me, I know them and I will sort them out. It is all political.”
Police are still searching for Alice who allegedly planned a wedding after a police complaint by the some people who had had contributed monies towards the event.
According to Lusaka Province Police commissioner Charity Katanga said a group of 57 women and men reported to Mwembeshi police, which is under Matero Police, alleging that they had contributed about K140,000 each towards the purported wedding of Esther and Nsanda, only for the event to be called off.
“There are a lot of statements and so far maybe 50 or so. They are about
57 complainants and 17 of which are female, 50 of these were supposed to be on the line-up. They claim to have been doing rehearsals for the past four months for the same wedding. Some paid K15, 000 and other ladies paid K140, 000 towards the preparation of this wedding. And two days before the wedding they were told that the wedding had been cancelled and that there was no marriage that was going to take place under unknown reasons,” Katanga said.
“Alice Phiri who was claiming to be Esther Phiri’s sister and has been organising this but at no time were they communicating with Esther. So this same woman contracted a matron to organize the same wedding. When they were told of the cancellation that’s how youths complained and said they were going to protest. The bridal party alleged that the wedding was scheduled to take place on Saturday but was cancelled two days before.”
Katanga said Phiri who was supposed to help police with investigations is reportedly on the run, while her husband, Mwanza, is in police custody.
“The husband Sunday Mwanza, 31, of Shadreck Matero house number 1762 who is married to the same Alice Phiri has been detained at Matero police to assist the police with the investigation but the woman is still at large and police are still carrying out enquiries to establish the truth of these allegations that have come forth,” she said.
Katanga further said Esther also appeared before police where she disassociated herself from Alice.

Truth be told. I feel really soorry 4 esther, she does not know what she is doing. Yes she has a right to go out with any man in then world, but she has gone for the wrong man. Nsanda has divorced so many time, everyone knows he is a terrible womaniser, Esther what garantee is there that your realtionship will last? Pliz esther’ friends and relatives, advise this woman. she is digging her own grave. Esther God has been gracious to you but you decide to destroy yo own life like that…my heart bleeds.
