Patrick Mboma Tips Zambia To Beat Uganda

Cameroon’s former international football star Patrick Mboma believes African Champions Zambia should have no problems qualifying to the 2013 Africa cup of nations in South Africa if only they maintain the same display they exhibited at the 2012 Africa cup of nations.

Zambia has been pitted against Uganda in the final round of qualifiers for the 2013 Africa cup to be hosted by South Africa.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with QFM’s David Bweupe in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Mboma the 2000 Africa footballer of year says the Chipolopolo are the deserved champions of Africa and urged the players to remain focused.

Mboma says Zambia showed consistency during the 2012 Africa cup of nations which led them to triumph over the fancied Ivoirians.

He singled out Chipolopolo Captain Chris Katongo and goalkeeper Kennedy Mweene as the key pillars in the team.

The former Cameroon international who won two AFCON titles with the indomitable lions has urged the Zambian players not to be carried away by their success but aim for more success by qualifying for the 2014 world cup in Brazil.

Mboma also paid tribute to Football Association of Zambia President Kalusha Bwalya for Zambia%u2019s success at the 2012 Africa cup of nations, stating the 1988 African footballer of the year’s football experience has helped bring success to Zambian football.

Thanks Mboma for showing confidence in our team, but your comments would have been more objective if you were being interviewed by an independent media house.
