MMD Questions The Silence Of CSOs On Governance Issues

The Movement for Multiparty Democracy (MMD) says the silence of the Civil Society Organisations involved in the advocacy of good governance will soon be exposed.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Qfm news, MMD national secretary Richard Kachingwe says it is surprised that the CSOs have suddenly gone mute on issues of good governance.

Major Kachingwe says sooner than later, Zambians will know the reasons why the organisations in question are adamant to criticize the bad governance being exhibited by the current government.

He says Zambia can only develop with the presence of a civil society that is organized and able to offer checks and balance without taking sides.

The MMD Chief Executive Officer has since urged the CSOs in the country to serve the interest of the majority poor people and voiceless they claim to represent.

Offer solutions instead of spending your time the way Sata used to, then when he finally got into power, he’s still going round Kafue round about. CNP!!! People want opposition that is genuine and progressive, not cry babies and bootlickers like we are seeing now!

MMD now wants CSO groups, they went vehemently opposed to CSOs during their time except for a few that they sponsored.

Bad Governance was very bad under the MMD, I hope Kachingwe realises that his Party in Government was evil. There was corruption and when Citizens were questioning Government, RB or Kunda or Shikapwasha would retort back the ‘Provide evidence’. RB’s rule was very similar to that of FTJ, coz they both were telling people to provide evidnce even when things were clear!. So, what is Kachingwe complaining of now?

Now MMD can feel the pinch, when people were saying there was a high profile corruption you used say no or provide evidence. PF is in power you are now crying foul play. MMD under Chiluba were involved in matrix using state machinery in embezzling public funds that was corruption; but the govt in power wanted evidence until Post Newspaper did so. So, what are you telling us now that were exactly what you were doing. What difference does it make to follow or believe your allegation? MMD under RB were involved in corruption openly meaning you could easily that Mumba Malila, Kapitolo, etc were to be fired, Chiluba’s case squashed when there is about $46 million in one the banks in England Zambian money according to E-news of South Africa . The situation was created to pave way for the generation of RB Business Family Empire
