Chrismar Hotel has sued the Football Association of Zambia over failure to settle a K181 million hotel bill for the accommodation of the junior national team.
According to a statement of claim filed in the Lusaka High Court commercial registry by Chrismar Hotel’s lawyers Messrs D. Findlay & Associates, Legal Practitioners, the Hotel is claiming K181, 435, 000.00, which is the outstanding balance from the K591, 845,000 bills.
In that matter that is before High Court judge Flavia Chishimba, Chrismar Hotel has sued FAZ secretary general George Kasengele who is the chief executive of the association for neglecting to pay the remaining balance.
Chrismar Hotel submitted in the claim that on or about January 2010 by an oral agreement, FAZ requested in writing and procured the Hotel’s services in respect of accommodation of the Junior Team and its various officials from January 2010 until March 27, 2011.
“The plaintiff did accommodate and provide services at the defendant’s request, which services amounted to the total sum of ZMK 591, 845, 000-00. Subsequently, the defendant did make various payments to the plaintiff during the period aforesaid, which payments amounted to the total sum if ZMK 346, 410, 000-00,” reads the statement of claim.
“The defendant failed to pay the balance of the amount due to the plaintiff in the sum of ZMK 245, 435, 000-00 and consequently the plaintiff commenced an action in the High Court claiming for payment of the same.”
Chrismar Hotel stated that FAZ through its advocates subsequently paid K60, 000, 000-00 and undertook to pay the remaining balance in monthly installments in an attempt to settle the matter by consent.
“The defendant has not paid the balance of the amount outstanding due to the plaintiff and consequently, the defendant is indebted to the plaintiff in the total sum of ZMK 181, 435, 000-00 for accommodation and related services rendered during the aforementioned period,” the statement of claim reads further.
“Despite attempts and requests for the settlement of the said amount the defendant has failed refused and/or neglected to make payment to the plaintiff.”
FAZ had recently claimed they had made surplus in the annual earnings.

Why hasnt FAZ simply bought or built a fully furnished camp house in Lusaka nd th copperbelt to accomodate all their teams at different tyms rather than spendin so much money in accomodatin teams locally? It doesnt make any sense at all…
Building own guesthouse(s) is a brilliant idea, it (they)could run as a public business when not in use by the teams. The only problem here would be the imprudent officials from FAZ who would abuse the facilities. FAZ should endevour to be in the news for hood reasons and not this kind of rubbish!
Where is the money they raised during the Zambia – Ghana game? Plesae pay up. Anyway, that is the maladministration you get when you have a “Foreign based” FAZ President who is not there to oversee the perfomance of his people.
From the word go I supported and liked Kalusha as a footballer when he retired from footballing circles and joined football administration I disliked him in favor of Hanif Adam the proprietor of Lusaka Dynamos. Kalusha won’t stop his scandalous behaour more especially with overhead lucky event of winning Africa Cup makes people easily ignore or forget about his crookedness. He was involved in cash scandal for sale of Mbesuma, Maukwa, fielding of bootlicking stars like Numba Mumamba. Even his childhood friend Charles Musonda knows the type of a person am talking about. Charlie Cool has reached to extent of allowing his children to be Belgium citizen and they will start playing Belgium national when actually they are pure Zambians from either Northern or Muchinga province. Chelsea FC [UEFA Champions] which owned by the Russian mining magnet bought the Charlie Jr beating Manchester United and Arsenal ;Kalusha does not want to talk about it because there shift of attention from him. Recently he lost the house maybe money meant to pay Chrismar has being diverted.
