SAD: Another Woman Grisly Murdered
TWO weeks after the grisly killing of Ruth Mbandu, a 27-year-old woman has died in Lusaka’s Matero after allegedly being attacked by unidentified men on Saturday night.
Police have since picked up the late Sharon Tembo’s husband, a disc jokey at a local pub, to help with investigations.
Sharon was fatally wounded and left for dead at a drinking spot in Matero, a township near Emmasdale, where Ruth was murdered on July 13.
Sharon sustained a deep cut in the neck and died on the way to the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) where some Good Samaritans rushed her, according to Lusaka Province police commissioner, Solomon Jere.
The incident, Dr Jere said, happened around 22:00 hours.
“Sharon is believed to have gone to the pub after closing her beauty salon around 22:00 hours. She was in the company of two unknown men.
“But for unknown reasons a fight broke out between Sharon and the two men, leaving her with a fatal wound,” Dr Jere said.
“The men,” Dr Jere said, “left her for dead and efforts by witnesses to save her life failed as she died on the way to hospital.”
Dr Jere said police officers have been put on the ‘beat’ to do further investigations and bring the culprits to book.
And Sharon’s father, Damson Tembo, said in an interview that he received a call from her husband at 23:50 hours that his daughter was unwell and had been rushed to UTH.
Mr Tembo found Sharon had already been pronounced dead by the doctor at UTH.
“My daughter’s head was covered in blood but her husband told me that she complained of being unwell and asked him to take her to hospital,” Mr Tembo said.
Sharon leaves behind three children.
Mr Tembo has since urged the police to thoroughly investigate the matter and bring all the culprits to book “regardless of the relationship with the deceased”.

It is a tradition to find a soft way of informing closing relatives when such happen. I see no reason for the police to arrest the man based on what he told his inlaws. I am sure he didn’t want them to panic or he knows their PB thing. This woman was seen fighting with men and not the husband and she died out of the fight. I petty my dear brother. Grisly is an adjective. It therefore needs a noun not a verb. There’s no such thing as ‘grisly murdered’. You can say ‘a grisly murder’ It is not an adverb
