Zimbabwe Arrives Monday for Friendly Against Chipolopolo

The Zimbabwe national team will arrive in Zambia on Monday for the August 8 international friendly match as a demonstration that they are taking the game seriously.

Team coach Rahman Gumbo said the team will fly straight to Ndola where they will set up camp ahead of the game.

Herve Renard’s men will enter residential camp on Sunday and will be lodged at Savoy Hotel.

“This is a serious game. We are going to be in Zambia on Monday, that is how serious we are taking the game,” he said.

Renard has named a 30 member squad that has seen him rope in three youngsters from the just ended Airtel Rising Stars competition.

The African champions will engage the Warriors of Zimbabwe at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in a middle of the week clash that Renard is using as a test match ahead of the September 8 Africa Cup final round qualifying match against Uganda.

Zambia will head to Seoul in South Korea where they will face that country’s side on August 15 in another friendly match.
