Ungrateful Ex-Prisoners In Lusaka Rob Prisons Care Boss Who Helped Them Secure A Presidential Pardon

POLICE in Lusaka are investigating a case in which suspected ex-prisoners broke into a house and stole household properties belonging to Prisons Care and Counselling Association (PRISCA) Executive Director Godfrey Malembeka, a man who helped them secure a presidential pardon.

Malembeka disclosed the development in an interview saying the incident is suspected to have taken place late last week when he was away in Kabompo. He said the total value of property which has been looted from his house amounts to over K16 million.

“I was away in Kabompo advocating for the rights of juvenile prisoners when a neighbour called me saying some people suspected to be friends we’ve been working with broke into my house.

“When I returned, I found they had gotten everything. They only left heavy things like fridges. They have gotten all the hi-fis, laptops and even my six pairs of shoes. It’s sad that the people we helped get outside (prison) are the ones behind this,” said Malembeka who stays in Chilenje alone as the rest of his family is stationed in Mumbwa where his wife works.

Malembeka added that although the ex-prisoners who broke into his house have demoralised him, he won’t stop fighting for prisoners’ rights.

“Yes, I very much feel very demoralised but we won’t lose hope. You see, these ex-prisoners are making our job very difficult. When we go out to the donors to convince them that these people have changed now that they have been released, they will refuse. They are robbing me, how have they changed?

“But the only consolation we have is that it’s not all ex-prisoners who are like that. Most really have changed,” said Malembeka.

An ex-prisoner himself, Malembeka founded PRISCAR to look into the plight of prisoners and also fight for their rights. The organisation also takes an active role in the pardoning of prisoners in the country.

Last May, President Michael Sata pardoned thousands of prisoners. Most of them found themselves penniless and homeless but Malembeka took it upon himself to help some of them by offering them among other things food at his home. It is these ex-prisoners who are suspected to have broken into his home.

And officers at Chilenje Police Station confirmed that they were investigating the case although no arrests have been made yet.

Only Jesus changes lives, not PRISCAR, or sociology or psychology you will learn and even be proffessors in these fields the answer still remains with Jesus and the Gospel of our salvation. Ba Malembeka these are evil people with no remorse governed by the father of all lies for he is a liar from the begining the Devil.

There is absolutely no proof whatsoever in this article that proves that it was actually the ex-prisoners that broke into his house..Ba Tumfweko mulebako objective. That heading you put up makes it seem like youre absolutely sure it was the ex-prisoners who commited the crime when youre merely speculating. This is a perfect example of some of your extremely careless writting!
