Dr. Ngoma: Opposition Political Party’s Have Become Petty

Political analyst Alex N’goma says there is no indication in the country’s governance system that the country is drifting into a police or one party state.

Dr. N’goma however feels the opposition in the country seems focused on petty issues a situation he says will cause it to crumble if not careful.

Dr. N’goma has noted that the opposition is trying to create an impression that there is discontent among the people of Zambia.

The political analyst has observed that the opposition has made a terrible mistake of always resorting to politics of character assassination something he says will cost them popularity.

He adds that the opposition is trying to use unfounded allegations that the country is slowly drifting into a one party state to win public sympathy.

Dr. N’goma has since urged opposition political parties in the country to begin making meaningful contributions towards the country’s developmental agenda.

Dr. N’goma was speaking in an interview with QFM News.

And Hope for Human Rights has observed the need for political leaders to sober up and use mild language.

Hope for Human Rights executive director Smart Chanda has observed that it has become a trend among some politicians to issue alarming statements in the public as a way of gaining political mileage.

Mr. Chanda also indicated in an interview with QFM News that it would not be in the interest of justice for the state to withdraw the case against UNPD leader Hakainde Hichilema.

The human rights activist has instead suggested that the courts be allowed to apply the law adding that for the matter to have been taken to court, it means the prosecution team has a good case against the UPND leader.

Mr. Chanda says it is therefore up to the courts to determine whether charges leveled against Mr. Hichilema should be withdrawn or not.

National Restoration Party (NAREP) president Elias Chipimo Jr has called on the government to consider dropping the charges of publication of false news with the intent to cause fear and public alarm against Mr Hichilema.

Iam not sure whether this Dr’s comments deserve any respect from Zambian’s. Many a time they are skewed in support of the ruling party. Are you not the same man who attempted to smuggle a ballot paper in South Africa. You are always hard on the opposition.

Dr. Ngoma may not be entirely right, but it is true that Zambian politics must drift away from making opponents look evil and unlikeable to having something better to offer

The leagal courts were the politicians are tried and weighed are the public. Stay in tune with them, and you have fertile ground to win their favour & thus – votes. Judgement is passed in the ballot box. So let all partie use the weaponry they have, (lies, tribes, jail, riots, meallie meal, vitenjes, cash & all) we shall meet in the ballot box.
