Muteteka Slams Vehicle Theft Charges

MMD Chisamba Member of Parliament Moses Muteteka says the motor vehicle theft charges slapped on him are mere misrepresentation of facts.

The Chisamba MP was yesterday arrested for fraudulently and without reasonable excuse or lawful authority converted a Mitsubishi Canter Registration number ABX 3529 valued at 75 million into a personal property pretending that he had purchased it when in fact not.

Mr. Muteteka says he initially bought two vehicles, his personal vehicle worth 92 million kwacha and another one for the constituency, worth 75 million kwacha from the same source.

He explains that he consulted the constituency committee and decided to instead give the constituency his personal vehicle, which he says was in a very good condition because he wanted the best for his constituency.

In an exclusive interview with QFM, Mr. Muteteka says there is nothing wrong with what he did adding that the only misunderstanding is the swap that was made.

Mr. Muteteka, who is also MMD youth national chairman, has accused the Patriotic Front Government of twisting facts.

And Mr. Muteteka says he is ready to clarify the matter before the courts of law.

WHAT ARE WE SAYING HERE? PERHAPS HE SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ARRESTED UNTIL IT WAS CLEAR HE CONVERTED THE VEHICLE TO PERSONAL OWNERSHIP AND REGISTERED IT AS SUCH AND THE ABSOLUTE OWNER PROVIDED CHANGE OF OWNERSHIP. I FEEL UNDERHAND METHODS FOR CHANGE IF OWNERSHIP MAY HAVE BEEN EMPLOYEE. ANYWAY WHO IS THE COMPLAINANT IN THE MATTER?

Motor vehicles can NEVER be exchanges like clothing ba honourabls. What you intended to do was noble but it should have benn backed with leagal ways of change of ownership. Thus, you could have have avoided the situation you are in today.

I’ve just proved 1 ZWD accusation. The site does not allow dissenting points of view. I posted an anti HH/UPND comment yesterday at 0730 (though am not partisan), it survived up to about 09 hours & was deleted. How can these guys learn what their opponents are thinking if they are living in a kaledoiscope lifestyle? Pity!

I wanted to give the constituency a better vehicle and consulted cadres. He must have been advised by a very dull lawyer and knowing the way pipo worked in MMD who could do that?

If he gave the constituency his better vehicle did he convert it into a state vehicle by changing ownership? the same way he converted with the state vehicle into personal ownership..
