Catholic Bishops: Constitution Should NOT Identify ‘Zambia As A Christian Nation’
The Catholic bishops of Zambia are opposing a plan to identify Zambia as “a Christian nation” in the preamble to a new proposed constitution.
In explaining their stand, the Bishops said that “a country cannot practice the values and precepts of Christianity by a mere declaration.
This is according to submissions made by the bishops circulated in response to a call for comments on the draft constitution.
“In the preamble, the declaration that Zambia is a Christian nation should be omitted” they stated.
“That is because – explained the Bishops – a Country cannot practice the values and precepts of Christianity, by a mere declaration.
They said the principle of separation between State and Religion must not be lost.
“If Zambia is a multi-religious Country, a fact that was recognized in the preamble of the first draft of the Technical Committee, to say that Zambia is a Christian nation would be in contradiction with this fact,” they submitted.
In other comments, the Catholic bishops objected to language that would allow for the death penalty and for legal abortion.
The Bishops of Zambia hope that the current process of constitutional revision is successful after the previous three unsuccessful attempts to write a new Constitution.
Among other proposals submitted by the Catholic Bishops are on regulations on citizenship and on the exploitation of natural resources of the country.
The Bishops are also opposed to attempts to include an express clause in the on-going Constitution making process supporting abortion.
They said Zambians must respect the sanctity of life.
“We believe that life begins at conception and that has been our position.”
“There is no way the Zambian constitution should support clauses that support abortion, death penalty or mercy killing.”
Currently, the Zambian law supports abortion in specific cases while the death penalty has not been repealed.

I am not very sure on wat to say. Zambia is a christian nation said Chiluba. Wat type of a man was he? Hw many wives did he marry? Hw much stealing did he do? Hw many pipo died during hs tainure of office? Hw many women have bin killed frm july 2 august 2012? Who is killing thse pipo? Zambians or not? I support the stance taken by the Catholic bishops. What does mere declaring of a piece of land as a Christian nation mean? Look around yourself, there is decadence and moral decay all over. A Christian nation must be characterised by christian values and not all forms of satanic manifestations. The one who declared Zambia a christian nation was the one who reduced the majority of Zambians to objects of manipulation and subjected them to the most uncouth exploitation by stealing from them. The new paradise which must be declared the Christian nation because it will be perfect and the only one will have no evil in it. Those who are condemning the Catholic bishops for stance they have taken are the satanists who want to continue hiding under the umbrella of christian nation declaration to wreck havoc in the nation through their dark world activities.

Zambia behavior as a Christian nation differs from Moslem countries because Christianity foundation is love. These bishops are saying that love is bad and then what are they going to teach us? The Church is not meant for the morally right or the spiritually correct but the prostitutes, liars, thieves, murderers etc… So that they change and inherit the kingdom of God. The hospitals are not for the healthy but the sick so that they become okay. Bishops, show us your sense in this issue why you think declaration of Zambia as a christian nation can only be when the nation is okay.

Christian nation and freedom to belong and practice any religion. And some morons think the declaration will make them go to heaven. You will know them by their fruits…. 3. The Bible is a book of wisdom that has many other books removed from it? Did you ever read the book of Enock where Angels explained the workings of the Universe to him? I doubt it. You read a bible that is edited and you think you know it all.
4. Do you think that if God wanted us to go to heaven the Christian way he would have allowed the world to be diluted by so many beliefs?

The christian nation declaration in the preamble of the constitiution is our identity and our confession that God is sovereign and is in control of this nation. Any foolish mistake to remove it will be disastrous for this nation. One would wonder which God these people are serving if they can oppose something that identifies them. Think about the expressions of kindness and hospitable nature of the people of Zambia.It is not by accident that this declaration was made christianity is our calling as a country and dare not remove it.

People, Senior Catholics very well know the god they serve. They are controlled by the jesuits – the mother body of all secrete societies. They are high level free masons who must see to it that the new world order, that will directly serve satan, is implemented.
This however should not be fought by anyone as it is the fulfilment of biblical prophecy. Just pray that our heavenly God will safeguard you in these hard times coming ahead.
