Sinkala Recovers, Ready For Uganda

ZAMBIA national soccer team midfielder Nathan Sinkala says he has recovered from a nerve infection and will be fit for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Uganda.
Sinkala said in an interview in Lusaka on Monday that he is fit and ready to deliver if summoned by coach Herve Renard.
He said he has completed his medication and is expected to resume training today with Democratic Republic of Congo side TP Mazembe.
Sinkala, who was part of the Zambia national team that won the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations, suffered a twitched eye nerve last month during Mazembe’s Champions League match against Berekum Chelsea of Ghana.
“I am very fine. I finished my medication yesterday [Sunday] and will be in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) tomorrow [yesterday] because I need to resume training. The recovery period was two weeks. I am very much ready to deliver and make Chipolopolo proud,” Sinkala said.
He thanked TP Mazembe owner Moses Katumbi and Zambians for standing with him during the trying moment.
“I thank Katumbi for being there for me and making sure that I am back on track. It was not easy for him to leave his programme behind and fly with me to South Africa. He really acted like a father and not a manager. I promise never to disappoint him.
“To my Zambian brothers, thanks for the support. You stood and prayed for me. I am ready for the team,” he said.
Zambia will host Uganda on September 8 in the first leg of the Africa Cup qualifier at Ndola’s Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.
