Former ZAMTEL Managing Director DEPORTED
The Patriotic Front (PF) government has deported Former ZAMTEL Managing Director Hans Paulsen.
Home Affairs Minister Edgar Lungu told Journalists in Lusaka this morning that Mr. Paulsen was deported this morning after he was cornered in Lusaka’s Makeni area.

He disclosed that Mr. Paulsen was also found in possession of some ZAMTEL property which government had been on the lookout for.
Mr. Lungu said the Zambian government will investigate how Mr. Paulsen returned to Zambia and how he got hold of a valid Zambian passport.
Mr. Lungu said government is determined to ensure that all wrong elements are flushed out of the country.

How this gentleman was found in possession of two work permits? and a Zambian passport? I think on this one the govt cannot be blamed for deporting him.these are what we call scavengers,disturbilisers in a foreign nation.Zamtel was really sold dubiously to untrustworthy pipo by untrustworthy pipo.

Are we sure of this story. I think the correct story is that The Former Director is the one that was deported and was also in possession of a Generator belonging to ZAMTEL.

It is the passport office who gave him. He bought it thru corruption. Zambians find it hard to get the passports but foreigners find it easy because of corruption at passport office.

Someone must be shivering for issuing a Zambian passport if at all he got it from passport office. Overhaul the passport office, some officers need to be re-deployed…

This whole story is wrong it was just a setting up by the MD Zamtel and the home ministry and rest all information in this news is wrong. Just to teach the Zambian having more than one work permit is not an issue if the 2 work permits are from different countries. Then this Zambian passport thing is totally wrong now I can understand how this PF government is giving wrong news about different people.

If Paulsen has committed any crimes well I leave that to the police to investigate.Besides all that I think this guy was brilliant in telecom management and he was stirring zamtel in the right direction and in my opinion its a loss to lose such brains.Lap Green might have errored in acquiring zamtel but Paulsen as an employee,the guy had brains to run zamtel.

Ok. I have been following news on Zamtel and have been reading comments from the ever so educated Zambians and I can only arrive at conclusion – the argument presented by the bulk of participants on this forum are fraught with unintelligent rhetoric and very subjective commentary that lack evidence.
If this is how a people operate, then I am afraid that there is very little hope.
There is general close-mindedness, bigotry and an extremely insular mindset.
For a nation with so many qualified professionals whom I would assume to be able to discern fact from fiction; I find it an extremely unfortunate reality.

Former ZAMTEL Managing Director Hans Paulsen came back to Zambia to get his cut as the employees were not given full terminal benefits .If the police had set a trap they would nabbed the Zambian who are in league with him. Zamtel employees lost 19 months each [about 2,300 workers]; for instance if one employee’s basic salary is K2, 000,000=00 then 19x2300x2000000= K87, 400,000,000 .Some MMD,ZDA ZAMTEL UNION OFFICIAL,ZAMTEL STAFF AND NDOLA HIGH COURT are aware of this issue.
