FRA Boss Matongo Fired
David Matongo
FRA Board Chairperson Guy Robinson in a statement released to QFM News says the decision to terminate Mr Matongo’s contract was arrived at during a Board Meeting held at the Food Reserve House today.
Mr Robinson says the Board has since appointed the Agency Secretary and Legal Counsel, Chola Alex Kafwabulula, to act as Executive Director for administrative purposes only.
He says the Board has thanked Mr. Matongo for the services rendered to the Agency and wished him the best in all his future endeavours.

David,reasons for firing you are not given here but I think you have reduced sitting in the office and taking actual tours around zambia to see how FRA was running.Look at how farmers are sleeping at depots,slabs not completed,one scale per depot.Come on my brother,you facked up by drinking coffee at office while things are falling apart out there.Yes if a person is not performing just fire them and I hope Sata will extend this to his failure ministers and PS’s.We have talked a lot in zambia now its time to work and those dragging us back,simple just fire the I.diots

I believe the ERA of insults should be left in da past people lets debate as mature people,i believe Mr Matongo was fired coz of something that the board felt compelled to do so. Lets comment but not insult. Sata is president, an elder and deserves respect from all Zambians. Zambia can hear and respect your views without any iota of insult. I thank all those Zambians who can comment without insulting. Lets build a culture of objective talking and respect for elders and fellow citizens. Follow my advice and our country will develop and be always at peace. Lets not hide behind internet and our pseudo names to throw X rated verbals at each other. We meet in pubs and other public places and share the joy of our football teams winning and the cheers are so loud. That moment no one asks which tribe, political party or origin. All that we do is jump up and down. How sweet that is. Lets employ that same culture in the political field. Right now its not pleasing at all.Too many careless comments on the internet. I urge all the people who send comments to be champions of peace and preach love in the country. Internet is a powerful tool that can build a nation. His firing has nothing to do with whether he is Bemba or not, it has everything to do with performance or indeed the corruption that has always characterised maixe marketing.
Which district was that which recorded the highest number of fraud in maize marketing with some women involved???
How come slabs for maize storage countrywide have not been completed and even just weighing maize is a probelm, that is inefficiency whether by a Bemba, Tonga or indeed Lozi!!!

Yes- FRA was crumbling. Year in year out we have maize rotting at FRA depots and it is throen away. Go to Natuseko Silos in Kabwe – tonnes and tonnes of maize is rotting. Those silos have a very good fumigation system but due to negilgence under MMd, they got obsolete because MMD negleted them thinking by using them they would be promoting the name of UNIP. See the way farmers spend nights in the cold on ques simply because the depot which is receiving the maize has only one scale! Is it too expensive for FRA to buy at least five scale per depot? Come to Natuseko and see the open corruption being practiced by the guys in the weighing department. They have become so bold that they solicit foer bruibes openly. ACC, DEC- where are you?

PF please reposses the FRA sheds rented out. Some are bieng used as slabs for block making while our precious maize is soaked. We can not accept this.Arrest those who have not performed contractual works.Forget the rantings of tribalism.

A former Standard Quality Inspector at the Food Reserve Agency has been arrested for theft involving K3, 724, 000.is alleged to have stolen the product for use by his fumigation company called Grain Borer Guard. The company was earlier awarded a contract by FRA amounting to K41, 838,458 to fumigate maize at Kaleya Depot and Malabo Depot in Mazabuka. Kumalinga has been released on bond and will appear in Court on 22nd August 2012.
