Rodger Chongwe Tells Barotseland To Use Constitution To Make Demands

Lusaka based lawyer Rodger Chongwe says he hopes the people of western province will use the on-going constitution making process to make their demands known to the entire nation.

Mr. Chongwe has observed that the current draft constitution talks about devolution of authority through the formation of the central, provincial and district governments.

Mr. Chongwe has told QFM News that this concept is not different from the demands that the people of western province have been making.

He adds that the constitution making process should be seen as a tool that can help resolve problems in the western province.

The people of western province have been demanding for the restoration of Barotseland Agreement with the Barotseland freedom movement recently passing a resolution to secede from Zambia.

That is the only way to reach certain goals. The document which is legal should be used which is the consitution infact not only by the lozi pipo, but by every well meaning zambian rather than the much talked about recession that is retrospective not only to lozis but entire nation.

I like the thinking of Dr Chongwe. This is good, I hope the people of Western Province will get his advice. We Zambians are used to living in peace not in peaces!

IS CHONGWE A REAL ZAMBIAN OR A PERSON WITH TWO NATIONALITIES?
BECAUSE HE WANTS ALL THE TIME TO BRING CONFUSIONS.
THATS WHY DUE CITIZEN IS NOT REQUIRED

Thats why, it is true that sata has not really gone back on his word regarding the barotse agreement. He is giving the balozis what they want, that is devolution of power and self determination through decentralisation. It is the absence of these things that causes the cry for secession (i cant spell!). So if sata gives them self determination, he is living upto his word.

I am very disappointed with my lozi cousins who are failing to get what belonged to them. My advice is take this matter to the international court you are wasting time.Bembas will never accept any dialogue.Aready you can see how they are turning tables around even failing to follow what they wrote on paper as policies.Go to court now or present the case to the united nations for scrutiny.

Ba Mutinta, Ubukopo. Have you read the agreement at any one time? If you presented this matter to UN, you will be extremely quiate. It is centred on total decentralization, not the dreams of one frustrated and failed Induna. Personally, I would give the indunas what they wish for so that they see &mknow that their precolonial bounderies were but the king’s head in the clouds.
