UPND Damage Control Tactic: William ‘Tekere’ Banda To Apologize Tomorrow Friday 8/24
OPPOSITION United Party for National Development [UPND] head of security and advisor to UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema, William ‘Tekere’ Banda is tomorrow Friday expected to hold a press briefing in Lusaka.
Mr Banda will among other things apologize to all media houses by ‘repenting’ from what is termed as his hooligan behavior journalists have suffered through his hand.

Mr Banda, who had just been arrested on two counts of being in possession of property suspected to be proceeds of crime, shocked everyone including police officers when he sprung like a tiger towards a group of journalists, grabbing a Muvi Television cameraperson Lloyd Kapusa by the neck, before being restrained.
Journalists found Mr Banda at Woodlands Police Station negotiating with a group of police officers who were about to lock him up but was incensed upon realising that photographers and camerapersons had been taking photographs all the while.
Mr Banda immediately abandoned his discussion with the police and in a flash was seen going for the Muvi Television camera but could not easily reach the gadget as Kapusa shielded it away from the rampaging Mr Banda.

It took a good while before some police officers could unclench Mr Banda, who was clearly oblivious of the surroundings but just bent on inflicting punishment on Mr Kapusa.
The police managed to free Mr Kapusa and hauled Mr Banda, as if he was a common criminal, to the police cell.
His lawyer, Rabson Malipenga, had been arranging Mr Banda’s bond as these events were unfolding outside the police station.
Mr Banda was earlier questioned by the Government Joint Investigations Team at the former Task Force on Corruption offices before he was taken to Woodlands Police Station for formal arrest.

This Banda wud hav been I chimbokaela now but Y is he stil loitering around? Let him rot in jail. Its like that’s his nature n can never change. Violence at its peak. How does he feel when misbehaving as old as he is? Shame, shame grandpa. No wonder some pipo doesn’t want to consider Zambia as a christian nation due to evil associated with them.

Apology my foot! I could only have lent him my ear if that apology was coming from his death-bed.
That William Banda has always been a criminal, i wonder how he always eludes the long arm of the law each time he betrays the wisdom that comes with grey hair.
I also wonder how he always manages to sugar-coat his image to win the blessing of some political parties.I guess it’s always desperate parties whose option to win eletions borders on violence.
Please HH, if you still value the little credibility left in you, retire that criminal.

As usual our Casual Police Service! A person being taken in should always be handcuffed! A desperate accused person can do the unexpected just like Banda! Watched most other countries and they cuff an accused person going in and uncuff coming out! Ba Police besu too casual and aloof! Wake up! One day a Policeman will be assaulted maybe then they will be alert! I was so alarmed at how they even allowed so many upnd cadres onto the 1st floor of their building only to have such a show down! The mess during Africa cup celebrations, security during show time, when people are going inside they should be frisked for weapons and even drugs now! I can go on! Police be alert if you can’t cope re-inforce with ZNS they seem quite “idol” I know they know a thing or two!

HH is now happy that he has got the powerful chief of security who can protect all the UPND members without fearing the police. police are under Tekere no doubt.

The other thing is i would love the media houses to do there research than feed people with the right imformation than what was said yesterday that Mr William Banda is special adviser to HH, Hes not.

This incident could have been prevented if only Tekere was caged nine months ago for violence.
Please take him out of our streets before he does the worst. The Man has a history of violence and we are there waiting for him to kill someone.

Ayone would want their press briefing to be covered by the press so that the world comes to kow what you said. Why should soeone wth no respect for the press hold a press briefing.
