Chipolopolo Squad Complete For Uganda

COACH Herve Renard’s squad is complete. The arrival of new English Premier League Southampton signing Emmanuel Mayuka and Emmanuel Mbola of FC Porto in Portugal wraps up the complement of professionals in the squad for the crucial 2013 Africa Cup of Nations last round first leg against Uganda on Saturday.
And Zambia skipper Christopher Katongo, Isaac Chansa, James Chamanga, Chisamba Lungu, Noah Chivuta and goalkeeper Kennedy Mweene joined their colleagues for training yesterday at the annex field of the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.
Rainford Kalaba, Nathan Sinkala, Hichani Himoonde, Stopilla Sunzu and Francis Kasonde- all campaigning for Democratic Republic of Congo side TP Mazembe- have also joined the Chipolopolo.
Mbola and Mayuka travelled by road from Lusaka to Ndola to link up with the rest of the Africa champions’ squad. Team manager Lusekelo Kamwambi said in Ndola the two were expected last evening.
With the duo joining camp, Renard will today have his complete 24-men who he will assess during a final preparatory practice match against Nkana before he picks his final squad to face the Cranes.
Yesterday, Renard had 22 players during a two-hour morning session.
Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) communications manager Erick Mwanza confirmed that the duo opted to travel by road to Ndola.
“It is done now that the squad is complete and we’re looking forward to a good game as we aim to collect a positive result on Saturday,” he said.
Mwanza said that the Cranes of Uganda arrive on Friday.
And Amazon Security of Kitwe yesterday donated K5 million to the national team for the purchase of water and beverages during camping.
Amazon managing director Chabu Kibombwe said there is need to motivate the team as they aim to succeed in the crucial encounter.
And STEPHEN PHIRI reports that Uganda coach Bobby Williamson says his team’s failure to hit the back of the net in last week’s international friendly against Botswana does not worry him ahead of the qualifier against Zambia.
Williamson told Uganda’s Daily Monitor newspaper that the players that featured against Botswana might not make the starting line-up against Zambia.
Uganda were held to a goalless draw by Botswana in Gaborone.
“The guys that played in Botswana may not necessarily play in Zambia. But we monitor them and try to pick the best players for the job. Of the regular back four, only Godfrey Walusimbi partook in the Gaborone encounter,” Williamson said.
He said there is no need to press the panic button.
“As I said, the game will be won and lost in Kampala. And if we do well in Ndola please don’t hype our players too much. They might become complacent,” Williamson said.
He does not doubt his ability to assemble a solid team, especially at the back, albeit aware of the strength of Zambia when the two square off.
“As I said, I can organise a team that can keep clean sheets. The game in Congo (Brazzaville) was unfortunate,” Williamson said.
Uganda lost 3-1 in Brazzaville but won 4-0 in Kampala to progress to the last round.

A bit of shivers but chipolopolo is too strong for the cranes. I cannot even imagine what players to feature. Chisamba, Mbola, Tonga Bull Himoonde, mayuka, Sunzu, etc
