Zambia Get FIFA Rankings Boost Ahead Of Uganda Clash
African Champions Zambia got a morale booster going into Saturday’s game against the Cranes of Uganda after climbing two places on the latest FIFA rankings.
According to the FIFA ranking released today and monitored by QFM Sport today, the Chipolopolo boys are now ranked 42nd in the world and 8th on the continent.
With the loss suffered in the international friendly against South Korea in Seoul, Herve Renard’s boys were not expected to make significant steps in the FIFA rankings.
Zambia the African champions are in Ndola preparing for Saturday’s clash against Uganda in the final round of qualifiers for the Africa cup to be hosted by South Africa next year.
Uganda are ranked 88th on the FIFA rankings.
Algeria and Mali were Africa’s biggest climbers on the rankings each moving seven places up.
Ivory Coast still remain Africa’s top ranked team followed by Algeria and Ghana in third place.
