Prisons Commissioner Percy Chato must be FIRED!

Dear Editor,

Prisons Commissioner Percy Chato must be FIRED!

The editorial comment of Friday October 5th, 2012 (Post Newspaper) under the heading (Prisoners are human too) cannot pass without comment. On April 4th, 2012, Mukobeko Maximum Security Prison was declared as (Hell on Earth) by the
Honorable Republican Vice President Guy Scott when he visited and saw for himself that the pathetic conditions under which the prisoners were subjected to were not fit for human habitation.

Unfortunately, it seems Prisons Commissioner Percy Chato has got no vision of foresight for both prisoners and prison
officers. He does not know how to address the issue and advise Government on the lasting solutions to the many problems under the Prisons institutions.
Besides, I would like to bring to the public attention that Prions Commissioner Percy Chato has lamentably failed to include more than 50+ prison officers who recently graduated on the 1st June, 2012 on the Government payroll. I strongly suspect abuse of office hence I pray that both the DEC and ACC swiftly moves in with state machinery to investigate him for corruption and nepotism.
I will write again on other issues affecting both prison officers and prisoners especially at Mukobeko Maximum Prison.

The prision infrasture has never changed for 40 years and the Commisioner of Prision just come yesterday he should be inocent dear what we need is each prision to be dicentrazilized and resources generated at a prision in katete be used in katete and not send to lusaka as is the case now, prisions should employ resource mobilizers and the manadete of prision be changed to start investing on corrections, productivity and developmental, agriculture should be a priority.

The author of this article is an ***** who doesn’t know how a government department is run. You think the commissioner can change things like someone who is at the farm as a farm manager? No. Their are polices that are made by the government which the commissioner adheres to as well. If you have a grudge with the commissioner better find time to face him directly not talk nonsense in the media like this. You should think before you outer your stupidity, you fool!!!

When a platform such as tumfweko is becoming so widespread, it also becomes a haven for unfounded and imaginative reports. This concerned citizen has seen problems some of which are personal, but he wishes the comissioner to be the bugetary source as well as implementor. It NEVER works that way. If you saluted his wife, investigate your mind and not the system. Surely, does one think that it is the commission that puts graduates on payrole? How shallow can we be? Sounds like those parents who report a teacher impregnanting their girl ‘AFTER’ he fails to pay their ‘car-value’ cash demand. Kuleni Mu Zambia Yenu!
