Renard Admits Zambia Can’t Do Without Kalaba

Herve Renard has admitted that Zambia can’t perform well without Rainford Kalaba.

This is after Zambia struggled in their away 2013 Africa Cup qualifier against Uganda on Saturday to win 9-8 on post-match penalties after losing 1-0 in the 90 minutes to finish 1-1 on aggregate.
Renard told MTNFootball.com that the scenario in Kampala would have been different had Zambia also had a fully fit Dutch-based striker Jacob Mulenga  of FC Utrecht.
“Of course we missed Kalaba , we missed Jacob Mulenga, on a pitch like this? Of course,” Renard said.
The TP Mazembe midfielder missed the 2013 Africa Cup final leg qualifier due to a groin injury while Mulenga was mourning the passing of his father last week.
“You know Rainford Kalaba is one of the best Zambian players,” Renard said.
“You can ask any coach in Africa they know Rainford Kalaba.”
Two years ago in Angola, Kalaba missed Zambia’s key 2010 Africa Cup quarterfinal clash against Nigeria due to suspension that the Super Eagles won 5-4 on post-match penalties after a scoreless draw at the end of extra-time.
“When you are not playing with Rainford Kalaba like the quarterfinals in 2010 it is not good news but the most important thing is to be strong,” the Frenchman said.

What HR should know is that,in football there injury or un foreseen circumstances and as such is suppose to identify other players who may be even beter than Kalaba or any other player. But this man depends on the players he found and he cant identify his own who may be influential in the team useless coach.

A coache’s job is to identify players he can make use of every position should have at least two equally good players, if renar doesn;t realize this his down will be bad.
We are the champions becouse we have good players but if the coache does not use the players tactically we will have nothing to show.

HR differed with Cliford over Mampi and bitches in Gabon and the the Nation must suffer, awe . When Rainford is down we can play Deco from Power Dynamoes or Cliford

Question marks are all over Renard. Why should he always insist on Chris even when the man was a mere passanger? The coach has grown wings and has become big headed,Chamanga should have been brought in for Katongo to sharpen the frontline.
Zambian soccer fans are not voiceless, so Renard take heed.

Its funny how quickly Zambias forget. A few months ago HR won the Africa Cup without Mulega. Now he must bring him back. For sure FTJ was right. Zambians forget easily. Remember a player plays for the coach. Besides are we not the ones who condemn FAZ if they interfere in team selection? Now the fans want to give their own line up.

Get it in your heads….Any team can beat any one. If Zambia beat Ivory Coast, why cant Uganda beat Zambia. Cameroun were beaten by Cape Verde, a country with 500,000 people (population of matero). Renard said it…we are not the best team in Africa. We just won a tournamnet. Remember that pipo.

Kalaba is an excellent player, no doubt! But to have a coach who thinks and singles out one player for the entire team’s performance is pathetic, to say the least. Football is team work and that is why every position is numbered and this shows the importance of every player in the side. I can just imagine what Sunzu, Mweene and company are thinking! AFCON final was Sunzu and Mweene who won it for us, and even in Uganda on Saturday, it was the same players. At least I’ve heard a few praises for Mweene but alas for Sunzu, our hero! God help us!

@ Tripoli the behaviour is while understood but that doesn’t mean the guy can’t be controlled at all. Come on, Clifford Mulenga is a good player, he has pace, creativity and sharpness that Zambia is lucking going by the previous matches, both home and away. Let FAZ as while as the coach sit with him and iron out their differences. There is also need to cast the net wide for new blood in the team. The striking force needs to be reinforced, hence its blunt right now. I also suggest that Kennedy Mweene be given the captaincy, for he has saved Zambia in many situations and Christopher Katongo sometimes is not himself, maybe one day should be on the bench. Fwayo Tembo, Rodger Kola and Given Singuluma prove your wealth. Jacob Mulenga should straight away find himself in the starting lineup for the Copper Bullets.

kalaba is a good player yes, but the coach should start thinking outside the basket of eggs he has now, football is seasonal, so we need some more good players who can make the team stand even without their presence of our dependable player. Clifford mulenga should be recalled , we all make mistakes just like the coach also made a mistake of going to coach Angola but still we had to consider him for second chance and now he can even stand tall and say he is part of the champions and winning team.

What do you call that strategy in football? I thought attack is the best way of defence but people what was that because to me it appeared deliberate and it involved everyone including the goal keeper? It really was strange to me!
