Polygamist Kaingu’s Marriage Divides The MMD

IRIS Father, Honourable Michael Kaingu MP

Sources within the MMD have exclusively revealed that Michael Kaingu’s polygamous marital status though personal and private in nature is beginning to be a source of divisions within the former ruling party.

The sources have indicated that there is growing resentment in the party about Kaingu’s polygamous marriage as some of the senior MMD members feel that it would be extremely difficult to push a Mumba – Kaingu candidature in the event that the current constitution making process among other introduces the running mate system.

It has been learnt that Kaingu’s polygamous marriage is also largely being perceived as inimical to the electoral chances of the former ruling party in that some hold that Zambians are inherently Christian and would have a lot of difficulties accepting a man who practices what is beginning to be deemed as an act that not only demeans women but also totally unchristian.

A key source particularly said that there is a growing feeling within the party that perhaps there had been excessive consideration given to western province as a party strong hold which consideration is deemed to have led the party to settle for Dr. Kaingu; “the party clearly turned a blind eye to what Kaingu was going to bring to the table and ended up overlooking more credible people like the young Muhabi Lungu” one of the sources said.

Owing to these developments, the ruling party is expected to give more prominence to party vice president for administration Brian Chituwo who is deemed as stable and relatively easy to package for the public in comparison to the polygamous Kaingu.

I think MMD is now finding a formula on how to survive as an opposition. Its ok for infights so that party structures are defined in opposition style

This article is posted by foolish and bitter person who must have been supporting a losing candidate among the two who lost to Dr. Kaingu. It is not making any sense politically how many were high political office while happily married to two women, I give you a example of former MMD Legal Chairman – Mr. Bwalya Chiti he wanted stand for position of Vice President in MMD twice and he was married to two wives and this same man now he is in foreign mission under PF govt why are people not raising eye blows is it because this man is a bemba? Dr. Kaingu even if married to two wives is a very successful businessman compared to to many of people married to one wife and tyhe two women love each other and are comfortable with that, so its yo problem? Its not fair not talking on people on their private lives and some who are married to one woman are most immoral

Let them fight, after they are all polygamous mad dogs! But as a christian nation, we should not advocate for such men who pursue such philosophical ways of life. How can the whole lot of leader show this kinda behavior, can he even back Zambia to remain a christian nation when his life is totally unchristian?

Leave Kaingu alone. He is happily married & his wives are not complaining. Muslims men marry more than five wives, so why should you restrict Christian men to one wife?

    October 18, 2012 at 1:32 pm

Let us encourage Christian men to marry more than one wife. If not check the population of Muslims will out number that of Christians in the next ten years. And you know what this means!

“an act that not only demeans women but also totally unchristian”, WHAT HYPOCRISY! Apart from NEVERS MUMBA, what else is christian about MMD, who killed nineteen (19) unarmed civilians in cold blood in Mongu January 2011 and falsely branded them criminals; who were so corrupt that some of its leaders are still in court today; who harassed and beat up innocent people; who even wished Sata dead and rejoice in his illness etc. Let them just come out in the open that it is Dr. Kaingu’s tribe that they do not want. That is okay as tribalism is the order of the day today.

polygamist has got nothing to do with wisdom…Zuma (south african pres) has more than 4 wives but he still does the job well..As much as I agree with men to avoid polygamy we must also start learning to differentiate between personal and public related issues..ONE ZAMBIA ONE NATION!

Is this when some MMD people are realizing that Kaingu has more than one wife? The party voted for him as one of their Veeps so let them live with it. To Kaingu, please do us a favour and get several other wives (since you are living in stone-age days practising your “culture” that objectifies women) if that can add to burying MMD forever. Honestly, the party dug its own grave by voting for Mumba and Kaingu when it should have put people who are not so dented like Mutati and Chituwo.
