Lawlessness: Heartless Chinese Boss Slices Off Zambian Worker’s Ear

A twenty-four year old man of Lusaka’s Kanyama compound has had his left ear sliced after being severely hit with an iron bar by his Chinese employer of China Jiangxi Corporation Limited.

Douglas Mwila was hit on the ear following a dispute over works on a drainage with his foreman only identified as Mr. Gou.

The incident occurred at Lusaka’s Embassy Park were construction works at the Ministry of Home Affairs have since commenced.

The matter has since been reported to the police but given the relationship between the Zambian government and the Chinese, it is doubtful if the Chinese assailant will be punished.

D you know the problem? Language barrier – the damn Chinese can’t express himself properly so when this worker talks to him, he oly communication the Chinese chap can do is injure! Go to ndependence stadium construction. All the four cranes are managed by Chinese. My nephew was rejected on about that the company tried to engage Zambian crane operators but if the other chap is a Chinese, the would not have proper communication. So, all the cranes are managed by 8 Chinese nationals, including one as gate man. This is absurd. Why can’t hey employ a Zambian crane operator and have a Zambian rigger on the ground and a Zambia foreman so hat there is no brak in communication. We can just sit idle and watch them get operato jobs with fat salaries when our nationals need jobs. Labour insists is all aware but hey are NDWIIIII.
