News Flash: Iris Fined K10 Million Kwacha
Lusaka Resident Magistrate Prince Mwiinga ordered Iris to pay the fine of K10 million or serve nine months simple imprisonment when he delivered judgment in the matter this morning.
Magistrate Mwiinga in his judgment stated that after having watched the sex video himself, there was proof beyond reasonable doubt that the video is likely to corrupt morals of individuals that may get their hands on it.
He further ruled that it was established that the duo where aware of the laptop webcam recording the entire scene.
Magistrate Mwiinga said he had taken into account that Iris is the first offender and did not intend to corrupt morals,adding that he also considered the fact that the convict did not publish the said video

It is very shocking to see how badly this girl has been treated, on account of corrupting Zambia’s imaginary morals.Think of those that steal millions of kwacha from public coffers and the deaths they cause due to no medicines because of no money.

This talk of corrupting morals makes me sick. After all what are morals but an opinion. Morals have no hard and fast rules but only depend on the circumstances.
I love porn and have access to millions of porn websites 24/7,just like many other Zambians, which makes fining Iris a sheer waste of time.

It’s amazing how people gang up to defend wickedness so vehemently and yet condem righteousness. The young girl has been fined and i have nothing against that, but the passionate comments trying to defend the indecent act in the name of “we are all sinners” leave me with no option but think that wickedness is more cherished and defended than good works. Now some are calling her a star! On this same forum the same people defending the immoral act are always there to condem the good works of righteousness that men like Prophet T. B. Joshua do.
Now i clearly understand what Jesus meant when He said the world would love you if you were part of it. It’s satan’s world where sin is and espoused and works of righteousness are despised, and men behind such works are called all sorts of unprintables.

The magistrate forgot to order a compulsory six months counselling to this girl. She can definitely change and we all hope for that. The father should take leave from politics after this episode and mobilise elders, the church (not a lawyer please-you were cheated that the case was straight forward when infact not and pleaded not guilty) to sit this girl down and talk to her on how a woman should lead her life style to gain respect in society. Her humble appearance is so deceiving mwebantu, iyeeeee…..

I get amazed at how pipo easily miss the point: The issue is NOT about Iris having sex, and indeed that she should not be having sex… It’s not to say that teenagers are NOT having sex…. It’s about (1) the LAW, and (2) RECORDING the “SEX VIDEO” act with a view to corrupt morals on anyone who might come across the video… MANY youths are having sex yes, nothing illegal about it – But are they Recording their acts on video and carelessly leaving it to leak out?

It is good that Iris vedict has come to pass; and many are questining the Police as to why live porno at night along the roads are left free and Police even pass and laugh. A WRONG is a WRONG; the Police and state must not wait to police when there is a complint. Policing should be there as they see it. In this case one would think that “One is not guilty of a wrong unless there is a physical complainant. …….” Besides, Iris is out and youngmen are ready for marriage of such a very good girl per se… A fine of K10 million may not be enough. Iris need also Sex Offender Treatment and Rehabilitation. There is a need to predict any Sexual recidivism and criminogenic needs. She need Treatment of criminogenic need in order to reduce recidivism. I propose RNR and GLM models to be applied in sexual offender treatment in order to reduce reoffendings compaired to which it would have been without treatment. Iris intergration into the community is another issues of mental and psychological torture. This will be there for a long why if possible treatments are not administered. I would proposed a “Kept Busy” methods. Sending her abroad to further her education. This might help. The judge’s decision making on this crime is welcome as it reflect Zambian stance on morals and its respect of faith in God.
