Redeemed Methodist Church Launched

REDEEMED Methodist Church (RMC) has challenged the Government to maintain the declaration of Zambia as a Christian Nation in the Constitution.

RMC Peace Temple Congregation Reverend-in-charge Paul Bupe said the Government and citizens at large should continue defending Christian values as well as leading the country through the 10 Commandments.

He was speaking during the launch of the Peace Temple Congregation at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola yesterday.

Rev Bupe said the Church appreciated Government’s efforts to curb corruption.

He said RMC would support the Government in the fight against corruption as the vice hindered the country’s economic development.

He, however, appealed to the Government to ensure that there was justice for widows and orphans throughout the country.

“The coming of Peace Temple Congregation is a sign of great unity and development; we want our congregants to participate in the decision-making of the Church.

“It is just two months ago when I resigned from the African Methodist Church because of lack of transparency and accountability,” he said.

Copperbelt Minister Mwenya Musenge, in a speech read for him by his Permanent Secretary Stanford Msichili, said the Government attached great importance to the role the Church played in the governance of the country.

He said the Government would govern the county by the 10 Commandments, adding that it would partner with the Church in mitigating social challenges such as HIV/AIDS and poverty.

And RMC Bishop Nasson Nswana congratulated Zambians for maintaining peace and tranquility for the last 48 years.

Bishop Nswana said the purpose for Peace Temple Congregation to break away from African Methodist Church was to have unity and encourage participation, adding that the members felt left out in the old church.

A movie titled ‘Ichikupempula echikulya” was also launched during the event.

MY problem with christianity is that it’s the tool that has made Africans blind and easy to dominate. I’ve been to a number of african countries and saw first hand people fill out churches and stadiums “praying to this muzungu jesus dude, meanwhile the europeans and asians set up their multi-national companies to drain resources.. african people are powerless and blinded by religon.

while in Sierra Leone, there was 3 day crusade in Freetown. While 200 km away in the Tonkolili mines, the Europenas (who invented christianity) are mining the diamonds out of the country. The people are in their religious hypnosis, while the creators of the religion benefit. enough diamonds in Sierra Leone to make it Africa’s 2nd largest economy. The country is so poor, not even 1 good hospital to perform a simple procedure like appendicectomy.Christianity alone is not to blame, but is a factor

Some one jokingly said whites are so greeedy that if indeed heaven existed they would not have told the blackman about it…
I tend to see sense in this. Religion seems to have really closed out eyes as Aficans we seem to even stop thinking and being obejective.
On the other hand though, there’s this breed of ‘smart’ African preachers whoare making a killing through church….ad we continue making them richer every Sunday

Very true You see the kind of heaven they “showed” us was so imaginary you had first to be made to think like them. You had to get brainwashed first. That is why they insisted that only through Jesus would you go to heaven.

@ Mr Country – I totally agree with you. Firstly, Zambia is NOT a Christian nation – you only have to visit the same churches, offices, homes and nightclubs to see that zambians are drunkards, they beat their wives, the commit adultery and fornication on a daily basis, pastrors impregnate choir girls, some chuches like SDA is riddled with affairs between they oppress their wives, they over-eat (they are gluttons), the condemn fellow humans (eg: gays & lesbians) – the list goes on.

I believe in god and would want Zambia to be governed by the 10 comandments, but dort like the mashrooming of so many churches in the Name of God because I think god gets confused and Tired of you men of God. The other thing is living your flock forming and forming another church that is not good because another man of God s flock is waiting when he left and joined politics 10 Years ago how many orphaned churchs are we going to have, dort cheat us that the church was corrupt if realy it was corruption and you have evidence why not take them to ACC so that they are arrested,You should be arrested rev for allowing corruptions to be in the church for the long years, you have been there and dumping you flock
