Ugly scenes of violence have emerged in Mufumbwe constituency barely a day before the electorate cast their votes in Thursday’s Parliamentary bye election.
Last night a UPND councillor, Jacob Kayona was attacked, teargassed and beaten by suspected gun carrying cadres.Three political parties are taking part in the elections that have posted mixed fortunes on who will carry the day, as all parties are confident.
With due respect to UNIP’s Stephen Kamwengo, the true battle is between MMD’s Stafford Mulusa and PF’s Stephen Masumba.

UPND is not fielding a candidate in Mufumbwe but just supporting their lose partner MMD. The people of Mufumbwe recently thanked political parties participating in Mufumbwe for peaceful campaigns.
Is it not shameful and ironic that the first incident of violence involved a UPND councillor??? I am not interested in the details, but just the fact that, the very first act of violence involves a UPND official should be a source of shame and concern to the Party.
Anyway, Dr. Jere, Deputy IG will ensure that he brings situation to normal in the area before elections tomorrow!!

PF and it’s government is doing everything possible to win this election including violence. The master mind of violence Winter was there so i am not surprised at what is happening. Ka Masumba must never be allowed to go back to parliament.

it seems this guy is a problem himself. I am sure he does not even hold the necessary tools for voting and he might not even be a mufumbwe dweller. He deserves it…
