Nkana’s Reynord “Sate Sate” Kampamba to Join Young Boys

Reynold ‘Sate Sate’ Kampamba

NKANA striker Reynolds Kampamba is expected to join Young Boys of Switzerland while his striking partner Evans Kangwa has continued to receive offers from top European clubs.

A move for Kampamba, who emerged top scorer in the 2012 MTN-FAZ Premier League with 14 goals, would see him becoming the second Zambian player at the club after Emmanuel Mayuka, who left the club for English Premiership side, Southampton.

According to sources at the club, Kampamba popularly known as ‘Sate Sate’ is in Lusaka sorting out his visa arrangements prior to departure for Switzerland, while Kangwa is tipped to move to Israel or Serbia.

“We have received a lot of offers from Europe and it is a matter of time before the boys go, but we don’t want to pre-empt things as we continue with paper work,” the sources said.

The sources said Kangwa, who was an un-used substitute at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations prior to him winning the golden boot at the Council for Southern African Football Associations (COSAFA) Under-20 soccer championships in Botswana, has received offers from Israel and Serbia adding that the club and player were yet to agree on terms.

But when contacted, Nkana club secretary Kenny Mwansa said the club had not yet received official communication concerning moves for Kampamba and Kangwa.

The sources, however, said the club had engaged Zesco United, Konkola Mine Police and Indeni football clubs in an effort to lure some strikers as possible replacements for Kampamba and Kangwa.

It is also believed that Nkana FC has embarked on a recruitment drive of players to beef up and create competition in the team.

The sources said the club would embark on a recruitment exercise for new blood to replace the majority of the players who have outlived their usefulness.
