Chisokone burns every year. I just understand why govt does not equip the market with fire fighting equipment and do regular checks to prevent fire. Every year, its always the same story….ba govt be serious mwe

Sad for the Chisokone marketeers. Now that ZANAMA has been deregistered, is the council going to mobilize any resources for the marketeers?

Tuntembas made of wood, plastics n grass are always a danger to human life. Here Tunduma market caugt fire in neighbouring Tanzania. They closed it and atleast managed to construct good structures well organised which can not catch fire. Build morden markets with space then you wil never regret. If you reply to my coment, I will send you a letter using a dove plus a coffin using a tortoise.

eye opener PF has nothing to do with the fire in chisokone market, this market has been burnt several times in the past even before this government.the problem is with this make shift stand made of ifikopa, carton boxes empty sacks which are easily combusable.too bad for the affected families.

Marketeers sleep in these stores as a security measure. At night, they cook in these stores, which have plenty fire hazards e.g. plastics, cooking oil, papers etc. Dalisoul once sung: “Chisokone ima pya, but bama bwelela po futi”.

THIS MAKE SHIFT MARKET HAS TO BE RAISED DOWN COMPLETELY AND MODERN/MORE CIVILIZED STRUCTURES ERECTED. IT LOOKS LIKE A HEEP OF GARBAGE VIEWING IT FROM THE OVERHEAD

I agree with u in totality, erase it and put up modern stalls upstairs and a modern bus station(down stairs) like park station in joberg. Kandabwe shanty shd be erased to build a market for goods like fish, salaula and others. To beautify a city bold decision must be made.

@ Nakonde Resident, are you the one who burnt it? Is Nakonde a home of wizards mambala iwe? Take it from me, if ever your try your magic, your dove will turn into hawks which will scratch your head big time.Your tortise will explode in your house scattering all the coffin materials and your house…ablaze. Go ahead, BUT ensure you are alone, collateral damage is unnecessary.
