ZAF Commander Eric Chimese,Being Taught UNZA Degree From His Office Not Class

Dear Editor,
At the University of Zambia when a students is registered it means that student should abide by Senate regulations which state that that student should attend class at UNZA and participate in all activities as stipulated in the university regulations.
What is happening now is that student Eric Chimese computer number 28056558 registered in the following courses PA 311, PA 321, PA 341 PL 331 AND SS 241 is being taught outside the University of Zambia .
He pays extra money to these poor lecturers who teach the same courses twice meaning they teach their normal classes and then they are picked to go and teach the Air Commander.
We have had prominent persons as students at UNZA name them Mike Mulogoti as a Cabinet Minister was attending Class Senior Chief Inshindi , the late Mapushi name them. This is totally wrong and it gives undue advantage to this student who is being taught in the luxury of his office. Zambians what do you think?

Its not fair at all. Let not money rule people like this. If only we all had money like them, no one could have been in class.

No wonder we go to class so that we can get reach in the future. Now think of a situation where you already are the future and have money, why would you go to class for?

Let him learn, after all UNZA doesnt offer online Studies, otherwise we all could have been studying online. Certain Jobs demand that you shouldnt expose yourself to the Public anyhow, so, there is a reason for everything.

How did he get the job?was he qualified or he wants to be qualified after he has gotten the job.Then its ok let him quit and start doing some online programs coz UNZA doesn`t offer that.Thats why aba fikala they 10 degrees without attending any lecture ine mwanya teti muchileko bafikala.Lets if someone can come to lecture or teach you from home what can make him to fail you even if you have failed.

This”home based care” kind of education should not be encouraged. People need to appreciate that you do not only get a degree in class but learn academic manners as well, otherwise we will have a “schooled commander who is not learned”.

I see nothing wrong here.If he has the money and the lecturers teaching him do not neglect their normal classes then it is touche.Some rich kids have earned their qualifications in the western world through private tuition’s.

do not be emotional. certain discoveries came upon such.the commander would be doing this online if our school had foreseen such things coming . we couldnt be having men like the president in a class with children of his great grannies age. Umuchinchi ulefwaikwa. such men like the commander simply want a qualification not to look for employment but a mere decoration for their offices. infact, they should even give them like those given to kaunda to become Dr. kaunda. honorary ones i mean., at least these ones are even trying ….

Facing facts,In Zambia we go to school in order to get a job but this commander has already gotten that therefore needing qualifications just for decorations.The problem is not the commander but UNZA management who up to this time have not moved with technology to have online education.Its high time our former school should realise that need going by this.Not everyone can manage to be in class.

People lets just all work hard so that we can all afford to do degrees at home, why been upset with the guy? he can afford to pay lecturers at home. That’s how money works.. ifi ngacakukalipa make money too so that you exploit those privileges. Poverty sucks!!!! hate the game not the player.

He is a commander and is therefore not supposed to be together with civilians because of how sensitive his Job is. He is one of the few people who are not supposed to be seen easily in the interest of national security. A soldier by nature is a hidden person.These are people who ensure that we enjoy the peace we have enjoyed for many years now. So there is nothing wrong with the commander learning from home.

You do not need a degree from university to be Air Commander. Lt. Gen. Chimese is a qualified fighter pilot and has other qualifications from military staff colleges which are affiliated to university. This degree he is studying will just be an added advantage to him. The question is, why should he have lectures in his office?

Distance and Open Learning (DOL) is another internationally and scientifically approved learning method. So why complain if the nature of his work can not allow classroom confined learning method.
If is subjected to all the University required exams and assignments; then its okey. So lets move with time – Now there is even learning on line.

Let him be if he is not competing with anyone. I attend lectures after work myself but I know we can not all go through it the same way. His side of story would matter too than just critising.

I know him personally and he is well qualified in his field. am sure he is just doing this to add to his CV. At least he is even upgrading himself unlike other officers in the past, when you get a high job you stop progressing. I have no issue with him learning at home because of his status however I would prefer that the whole arrangement is regulated so that there is integrity.

Can some body please explain to me what degree course this boy will end up getting? PA 311, PA 321, PA 341 PL 331 AND SS 241. Can I assume PA is supposed to mean Public Administration and PL means Politics or something to that effect and SS must definitely mean STOPPING Son> The chap is a pilot who I suppose something like computer tech or electronics or even Geography of the Universe would have made sense. The poor boy wants a degree no matter what it is as long as he is called graduate finality. A total waste of time as Bill Gates and Steve Jobs would say…

Where was he when his colleagues were paying attention to school. Let him go to class just like any other student. I doubt if he will even use the knowledge he is seeking now. I thought he should have had the knowledge he is seeking before he assended to his current position.
