Masebo Has Striped Naked The Nation’s Security

maseboDear Editor,

May we be level headed and try to put these sensitive issues in their right perspective.
How can we allow such careless and damaging utterances by MASEBO,utterances bordering on our national security. Can we surely say we have senior members and ministers in PF, because this is now going beyond warring political camps. The security of 14million Zambians is being striped naked for the whole world to watch and who knows what next.
The Hon Minister of Defence should be supported by all well meaning citizens because he is trying to diffuse an alarming situation already created by a NOT so honourable minister of ZAWA.
GBM’s intervention in this matter is not personal BUT we should look at it with the seriousness that it deserves.
As for the POST, their hatred for GBM has started making them look foolish in the eyes of most zambians.
Instead of the POST condemning MASEBO’s careless statements or even questioning Wynter’s open corruption of training PF women at his school, the POST have chosen to pursue GBM at any cost.
All GBM’s progressive speeches at official functions are not reported by the POST because they always wait for something negative.
Can we honestly develop zambia with this type of attitude?

Hon. Masebo called a spade a spade, and not a big spoon. So why paint her pronouncement black when ZAWA officers have been sleeping on duty? Fire them, poachers in the name of zawa.

Masebo and Kabimba take bribes from APG milling for protection. Both are very corrupt. I personally withnessed $35 000 been given to them.the greeks are the mafia of the milling industry in Zambia.

ACC and/or ZP please find out the truth about this alleged corruption. Why label others “corrupt” when you also corrupt? Investigative wings of economic offences please do your job.

I have seriously failed to see what security has been stripped by pointing out an anomally. In fact, security has now been beefed up. We do not become secure by sitting on facts and by keeping quiet. This matter shouldn’t be for politicking.

There’s no national security Hon Masebo has revealed. Would anybody call air-lifting of our wild-life by thieves as national security? Hon Mase: you ‘re a brave lady. If we had 10 such leaders like you;to mention a few: prof Luo,Kambwili, Chenda, Kasonde… and above all The Vice President Scott, our President Sata would have it easy to govern. For now Hon Mase, clean ZAWA.

I just do not know which one should get clearance among the two,the one going/flying out & the one flying/coming in? maybe she meant Zambian registered planes flying out at will?can someone from the Aviation industry help us please to clarify this issue.

@chazya.clearance is obtained for every flight, inbound or outbound or indeed within the country. However one can carryout small domestic flights below a certain flight level for local short flights without clearance but he should still announce his take off on the radio.so forinstance flying from one village to the next doesn’t need clearance,or the microlights flying over the falls. The loophole is that zambia allows such tourism flights below a certain altitude and the adjacent country also allows, hence one can hope from country to country. The airforces will also analyse that the plans involved do not pose a security threat. This free zone is protected by international law.The solution is having presence at all airstrips hence even such flights will be cleared.more capacity to NAC.

Like the chinese rebuilding a city in china with resources from Zed. HALLO!!! Wake up!!! That Airport in Lusaka is so porous that the foreigners know it and collude with National airport, immigration and customs officials.
Imagine someone goes thorugh security if those scannerws even work, check in and ae allowed to come out and chilax with friends or family. What is to stop them from carrying any government trophies or other contraband? Lusaka airport is a dissaster waiting to happen in regards to security.

People like this author need to start thinking and asking questions about what has been happening in our country, like how our emeralds and other semi precious metals leave our country. Burying our heads in the sand like a Ostrich in the name of security is rubbish. Masebo did well to highlight this problem so that we can work on it as a country. Questions are still been asked about the gold saga and how it left the country, as Zambians we should talk it,the same way we should talk about our precious wildlife and emeralds. Billions worth of emeralds are declared outside as from Zambia but we record only a tiny amount.
