PF Disciplinary Committee Concludes Business

THE Patriotic Front (PF) disciplinary committee that was determining cases against Kabwata member of Parliament (MP) Given Lubinda and suspended Eastern Province chairman Lucas Phiri, among others, concluded its sittings yesterday.

The committee, which commenced its deliberations on Friday, will now forward its recommendations to the PF central committee.
Committee chairman Edgar Lungu said in an interview in Lusaka yesterday that Mr Lubinda, Mr Phiri and other accused party members appeared before the committee.
Mr Lungu said the committee will evaluate submissions from the accused before submitting a report to the central committee for action.
Pressure has been mounting from party members calling for expulsion of Mr Lubinda from the party, accusing him of working with opposition political parties.
PF secretary general Wynter Kabimba gave Mr Lubinda a seven-day ultimatum to exculpate himself on, among other allegations, that he was leaking confidential information to the media and opposition political parties.
And Mr Phiri was suspended from the party together with five other officials for allegedly sowing seeds of division in PF.
Mr Phiri and other suspended officials were also accused of working with former Chipata Central MP Lameck Mangani to propagate seeds of division in the district.

The young chap Mweetwa jeopadized Lubinda. Infact, Given also is to blame. How do you say that “if PF”(instead of “my Party”) expells me, I will defend my seat. That shows that he himself is guity and has no remorse. He never belonged to the PF.

PF, Just come out in the open that Sata is trying hard to elevate his dog selling son to something recognisable. So Kabwata appears a more reasonable seat for the chap and Given is being sacrificed, alas scandulously. Sata will never create a dynasty in Zambia and his best was as an opposition guy.

Baice, mwatampa ukuituka for nothing? This is what we call a dress reharsal. Winter Kabwamba has already declared the verdict, but it doesnt change the fact that Lubinda is a man of substance. Caution Kabwamba, Lubinda will cause U more sleepless nites as opposition.

Anyone close to the President of any member of the Central Committee of the PF should let them know that expelling Hon. Given Lubinda will be one of the costly decisions that PF will make and it is likely to go a long way in squandering public confidence in the Party.

If he is indeed guilty of the allegations, find ways of addressing the issue, Given is such a useful member of the Party and gives a legitimate claim to the PF being national and the man fought with the PF, unlike those who have just joined at the alter after the animal has been slaughtered.

I am not privy to the details of his offense, but I need no Phd in politics to understand that his expulsion will be a huge public relations scandle!!!

Given Lubinda should come out and say something in his defence if he is not guilty. He has kept us speculating for too long. People, with politics you can’t trust anyone, he must be a traitor. We respect the man but …

I can see worse than animal farm behavior in FP. The true PF is now showing out; and the true MMD is also exposing out. This is proper drumer of season. The whole fight is behind Wyter Kabimba. He wants to be a President in 2011. He was worried of GBM, but GBM proved himself unfit for the position when he declared to Zambians that he is in Politics to make money…ha ha ha. Wyster is ok with him dispite double dealings of curruptions together; Wynter is now on Given Lubinda, and Given is preaching about unity, love and peace. The truth is! Given, HH and Nevers ,are the choosen leaders for Zambia after Sata. After Given, Wyter shall attack Kambwiri, and this will be the end of PF (Pass and Fail). Those thinking SATA wont go for a second term, please forget, he will stand in 2011 for presidency again. Amen

Hmmmmmm…..this whole story does not make any sense. If it is true i wonder what his motive was? what did he stand to gain? Is UPND a party that is going anywhere?

I hope in the spirit of Unity and forgiveness and love for the party, the Central Commitee of the PF will have an independent mind to exercise mercy in pursuing love and unity and overide the extreme recommendation to have Lubinda expelled. Let them just suspend him. I am sure he has learnt his lesson.

I’m dissapointed in Hon. W. Kabimaba. He is the one that brought this to the public by sharing with media. He the same man who also disclosed confidential information to the public about a letter that was written by Prof. Clive Chirwa advising the then UPND-PF pact. The contents of that letter were meant to be confidential, just as much as the Lubinda Case is. Do not was dirty linen in public. The problem now is; the people now be waiting to see what action is going to be taken, they will also raise questions that will be difficult answer. PF should not make us feel as though they are a party that was fortunate to win the elections when they were not ready to form government. It’s to early to start eliminating potential threats for presidency.
