Does Chambishi Have a Future To a District Or Not?

Dear Editor,
The creation of new districts is said to be a fundamental part of decentralisation of government.futher more There are many economic, political and socio-cultural reasons that support the creation of more and more districts.But with the creation we are seeing in our current PF Government so far that is leaving out CHAMBISHI is absolutly contrary to what it defines.
Economically non of the recent made districts can be compared to CHAMBISHI, population wise all the same. If only the Government can think of such areas on how and why they always leave us out.
Job creation can be of a higher number and reduce unemployment to the over populated chambishi which still seats and share its honey with KALULUSHI.
chinese are the largest investors we have in zambia, and if there is a place in zambia were they have the largest investment is CHAMBISHI,imagine how developed it can be if they had to decentralize us
I think the area is just too big to be managed by on MP for both kalulushi and chambishi who doesnt even know that in chambishi where there are five big mines there is only one BANK(sab-brunch), there is no bus station,there is no recreation that even turns the youth in the area from being who they are to become JERABOZ.

this is said to be the Government of the people, no let us see if it really listen to us,because we dont want to see promises coming until election time then you turn us into a district.this is the time.

Self Contradictory! if you already have the mentioned developments & investiments, then you are well off when compared with other parts of the nation which Need to have what you have already. Take Note, recreation does not come from district status.

Yeep, President Sata should consider creating Chambishi a District. there is no way people from Chambishi should travel from chambishi to Kitwe then Kalulushi in order to go the BOMA see either Council Town Clerk or DC or DPS or MP’s Office.
what makes chambishi suitable to be a District on its own?
1. Geographically, there is no way Chambishi can be under Kalulushi. there a huge Mwambashi river and the Forest which separates the Two Districts.
2. there is no public road linking Chambishi and Kalulushi.
3. Chambishi has a Hospital
4. it has a bank
i short Chambishi has everything it takes to be a District separate from Kalulushi.

of course people from Kalulushi would not stomach such suggestions because they get revenue from Chambish mines i.e. more than 5 Billion Kwacha (ZMKr 5,000,000. Kalulushi depends on revenue from Chambishi for the development of Kalulushi. but this is at the expense of people of Chambishi. all such revenue should be able to benefit the people of Chambishi.

Ladies and gentlemen, the idea of making chambishi a district is not something that we can put in the shelves.

Chambishi qualifies to be a district because of its geographical location. Secondly, the population size is big and the required imnfrustratures is available. All the revenue collected is benefited by the people in Kalulushi. Hence, people from chambishi are left out from these benefits. The coperate social responsibility is enjoyed by people in kalulushi than the intended benefically (chambishi residents).All the enjoy is the centre from the mines
Finally,Manyinga was a small sub boma of kabompo but have been allevated as a district.
What are the requirement for a place to be called a district? Because chambishi has all it takes as compared to Manyinga.
May this issue be looked into seriously.

Let Chambeshi grow and merge with Kitwe or chingola then it can be rebased/realigned to any of the two town/city.

Chambishi has been under developed for years now and has what it takes to elevate it to the district status. The Chinese Investment in the mines is huge and it has social amenities. The only thing the Govt of the day needs to do is to build a hospital. Otherwise, it should be be delinked from Kalulushi so that it develop more.
