Pressure Mounts On Lubinda To Quit ‘All Lusaka District Chairpersons Want Him Out’
LUSAKA District Patriotic Front (PF) chairperson Goodson Banda says his committee wants Foreign Affairs Minister Given Lubinda to step down immediately as per recommendations of the disciplinary committee.
But PF Secretary General Wynter Kabimba said in an interview yesterday that he had not yet received the report from the Edgar Lungu-led disciplinary committee.
Mr Banda said Mr Lubinda should step down because of his treachery, disloyalty and ability to destabilise the party through leaking information to the opposition.
“Mr Lubinda’s action of leaking information to the opposition is treacherous and would greatly destabilize the party if left unchecked,” he said.
He said the disciplinary committee found Mr Lubinda guilty which prompted the committee to demand his resignation.
Mr Banda said Mr Lubinda’s action was unacceptable and warranted dismissal because he was jeopardising the PF’s developmental efforts.
He said the entire district demanded the resignation of the minister because it was proved beyond reasonable doubt that he was guilty of destabilising the party.
Mr Banda said if Mr Lubinda did not step down his team would continue pressurising the Central Committee until necessary action was taken immediately.
When contacted for comment, Mr Kabimba said he was supposed to receive the report on Tuesday from the disciplinary committee, but he didn’t.
“I don’t have the report. I am also waiting for the report which I was told I was going to receive yesterday (Tuesday),” he said.
Speaking in a separate interview, Mr Lungu, who is Home Affairs Minister, said the report was complete and it would be handed over to the PF Central Committee this week.
“The report is complete. We (disciplinary committee) are just cross-checking it,” he said.
The PF disciplinary committee sat for three days to hear eight disciplinary cases, among them that of Mr Lubinda’s alleged leaking of vital party information.

Goodson Banda is just being used by someone else to say all this nonsense about Lubinda. Who is he to ask for Lubindas expulsion when Edgar Lungu has refused to comment on their findings and that the central committee will decide?Why cant all those calling for Lubinda to be expelled wait for the central committee to preside over the matter?

It is like all of us comentng ‘ve not found Lubinda guilt, den who has found him? Sata shud be careful with his childish SG because he is da one behind da whole thing. He shud all be displened 4 telling cadres administrative information. Kabimba is not a figure in PF as compared to Given Lubinda. If I were Sata, i was goin to revoke da appointment of kabimba as MP.
