Pastor Nevers Mumba Exit Calls Excalate
SOME MMD youths in Lusaka met yet again on Sunday evening and restated their determination to get MMD president Nevers Mumba out of the party.
The youths led by Lusaka Central constituency youth chairman Jacob Mtonga and Kabwata youth chairman Leslie Chikuse say they will embark on massive demonstrations until Dr Mumba quits.
“We are holding meetings everyday with different party members because we are convinced that Dr Mumba is destroying this once vibrant party,” Mr Mtonga said.
About 40 youths attended the meeting.
“We have previously called on the NEC to hold an emergency meeting to iron out the party’s problems but to no avail, hence our stance now,” Mr Mtonga said.
Mr Mtonga said the youths will fight to correct the wrongs in the MMD, adding that the youths will be consistent with their stance on Dr Mumba.
“If he continues to be our leader, there will soon be no MMD,” Mr Mtonga said.
He denied that the youths are being sponsored by some people.
“We are visionaries who want to ensure that Dr Mumba leaves because he is destroying the party,” he said.
But MMD Die Hard Coordinator Bowman Lusambo scoffed at the demands, saying the youths have been paid to destabilise the MMD.
“Those guys have been paid to cause confusion in the party. We know who is funding them but they will not succeed,” Mr Lusambo said in an interview.

I strongly believe Nevers is not wanted in MMD, why can’t the party go for a convention so they can chose their preferred candidate/President?

UNIP went through exactly the same phase before it finally slid into a comatoze position. Like the French will say, this is all “deja vu”. Though the classic will be PF when Sata kicks the bucket soon, it will be an inplosion of tsunamic proportions in PF.

At least not in this lifetime.Con – artist politician destroying a party which is already irrelevant to the Zambian society. He should just go back to preach. That is if he can gain back the confidence of the people he will be preaching to.

Nevers is the right man for MMD because he is brave to speak against the wrongs of ruling party. I am not a member of MMD but i feel we need vocal opposition. Simbao also sounds intelligent and visionary. Lets support the two who can not be bought or sold.

To everything there’s a time and season. This is time for Nevers to lead MMD. Namugala is just an over ambitious person who shouldnt be allowed to mislead members. Thats my humble opinion as an outsider.
