Kalaba Returns To Mazembe
Zambia midfielder Rainford Kalaba has reported back for pre-season training at TP Mazembe and denies any imminent move to Orlando Pirates.
Kalaba, who returned to Lubumbashi last Friday, confirmed that Pirates had made contacts with him.
“It is true that South Africans have contacted me and we had some exchanges,” Kalaba told Mazembe’s official website.
“But there was never any question of signing with Orlando Pirates.”
Kalaba insists that reports that he had agreed personal terms with Pirates where mare media speculation.
Stories linking the Zambia midfielder to the defending South Africa Premiership champions have been swirling over the last five month and have refused to die.
Mazembe is also gripped with uncertainty over the futures of its three Zambia stars namely Stopilla Sunzu, Hichani Himonde including Kalaba whom the club insists are tied to club for another two years.
Meanwhile, Sunzu and Himonde also returned Mazembe this past weekend for clear-the-air-talks over their future.
