Ruling Patriotic front candidate Gabriel Namulambe is headed for re-election in the Mpongwe by election.
Out of the 39 polling station counted so far, Mr. Namulambe has taken a comfortable lead with results from 9 polling stations remaining to be counted.
Provisional results indicate that the PF candidate has so far amassed 4, 167 votes while his closest rival Rabson Chilufya of the UPND has polled 2, 699.
Mpongwe has 48 polling stations but the contest is between the two front runners.
Other candidates are MMD’s Miniver Mutesa who has polled 815 while Reagan Ndhlovu of NAREP has only managed 554 votes.
Kenny Kuveya of UNIP is trailing behind with 95 votes.
The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) is this morning expected to announce official results

Boondocks,You have a point that if God has annointed a leader no man can stop it. What makes you think He has annointed HH this time? If Mazoka (MHSRIP)won how come he was not president at the time. He was rejected by God. It then also follows that if your HH “wins” like it was with honourable A. K. Mazoka (MHSRIP), he will also not rule because in like manner God may reject him as well. At the end of the day whether “winning” or “losing”,only the person chosen by God assumes Presidency. If God has chosen the dictator and power hungry man HH (my strong opinion for obvious reasons), who am I to stand in HH’s way to presidency? But if HH has not been chosen he can try as much as he wants and he will never be presido till he goes to his grave with bitterness written all over his body. It will be a “mwanawasa” come 2016 who will be awakened from sleep at mid night to come and be president of Zambia like the way it was in 2001. Have we forgotten? Sata had tried by all means to mud-sling everyone the way Kabimba is doing right now. He thought he was going to be the next president but it never happened.
As someone has said on this same sight at the end of the day it is not the politicians we need so much. It is God. He is the one who matters the most and can bring about change in our lives starting from deep inside and then the effect of that change being seen from the outside.
For now let us wait and see. Only time will tell.
So let us seek God in genuine faith and repentance while He still lends us His breath. We may be no more tomorrow. For the true Children of God, the christians, yes the born agains who read my words, pray that we may have peace in this land to the end that the gospel of the Great God of Heaven may spread without hindrance to the glory and honour of His name.

These politicians should not just jump from one ruling party to the other. They should also jump with a package to the people of their constituency. How many times have we changed parties, but people still cry for unattended issue. If these ministers make a change, the change should start from inside them. Whatever they carry as they change should be change as change is inevitable mwebantu. Please make me a minister and you will see what I will do for the people.

MMD, what went wrong this time?
Much as I may not be in support of “unnecessary” by-elections due to cost implications, from this one by-election, it seems clear that Nevers Mumba is pulling MMD underground… Could this be the end of the once popular party, on the Copperbelt?
Nevers’ intolerance will definetely finish MMD…
Come 2016, UNIP would even be better…
This must be a big day for Major Kachingwe and Catherine Namugala…

Let’s think!! Who has worn the mpongwe seat? Last time PF as opposition then there candidate lost to Namulambe of MMD, this time this man jumps on PF and again he wins, so what will stop him win again when he jumps to another tree? So to me its not PF but nalumambe. Bravo big man.

The dangers of democracy are that even fools, crooks, thieves, murderers etc can be elected to be representatives of the people who elect or who do not elect them. Now that Honorable Namulambe has won the Mpongwe by election, what is he going to steal this time? Will it be goats, cattle, funds for roads etc. The law must be amended so that those being investigated or being prosecuted should not contest elections until they are cleared. My point is, corrupt leaders will easily cross over to the ruling party so that they are protected from prosecution and possible jail sentences. MMD was labeled a corrupt party. Now the corrupt leaders in MMD are very good leaders in PF. There is no sense at all. Zambian wake up and call a spade a spade. We are being manipulated by these greedy so called leaders. We are watching now, next time it will be informed ballot action.
