The opposition in the country says the quick response by the Commonwealth to their petition shows how much regard the international community has for Zambia.
A team of officials from the Commonwealth Secretariat in London is in the country to investigate claims by the opposition of abuse of human rights by the Patriotic Front government.
This follows a petition by the Coalition for the Defence of Democratic Rights (CDDR), which comprises opposition political parties and some civil society groups, which called for the country’s suspension from the Commonwealth.
MMD president Nevers Mumba says the quick response by the Commonwealth is also an indication of their willingness to respond to early warnings.
Dr. Mumba tells QFM that it is very clear that no one wants to see Zambia get destabilized as the country has always been a centre of peace.
He says he only hopes that the Patriotic Front government will respond appropriately to any queries.
And UPND president Hakainde Hichilema says he is optimistic that the delegation will carry out its work professionally.
Mr. Hichilema adds that it is clear that the international community wants human rights to be upheld in the country.

ukupwa kwa MMD and UPND euku! what did these assholes rush to the commonwealth to cry for things that are not even their? True that, are they not violating rights of those MP’s joining the ruling party? Are they being forced to join or they are doing so because they are able to see that, the PF Government is able to deliver and has a vision for this country both the rich and the very poor in our country?
dull opposition Top Leaders like Hakainde and Nevers M. are not to be entrusted with the running of affairs in our country.
I rest my recommendation/suggestion.

IT’S SO ****** TO SHOOT YOURSELVES IN YOUR ASSES MR NEVERS MUMBA AND MR HAKAINDE HICHILEMA.
YOU HAVE INDEED VIOLATED HUMAN RIGHTS BY VICTIMIZING MPs WHO ARE CONSTITUTIONALLY APPOINTED BY THE PRESIDENT.
YOU DO NOT MEAN WELL FOR THE PEOPLE THEY REPRESENT

Very shallow-minded presidential aspirants. This is good ground for judging what u are capable of doing when given a major task of running the entire nation. This, for sure, will have serious repurcussions for both of you.Zambians are not ******.

”Mumba hopes the PF govt will respond appropriately to all querries.”
What a load of crap! If you accuse someone the burden of proof is on you not the accused. These guys came up with lies without any tangible strand of evidence and now they expect the government to provide them with evidence to incriminate itself. These guys thinking is too shallow to be effective in politics, if the commonwealth had proper evidence they wouldn’t need the PF in the investigation. PF has just been given an opportunity to present evidence of how their supportes are getting killed by the opposition militias. People like Mumba have a talent of killing anything they touch because of lies.

SK I like your comment. These baffuns are so dull they think they can fool people just because HH has got money and nevers’ conman speeches. No! we can all see through them. And by the way, where is Rupiah Banda getting the money he is paying his high priced lawyer in the name of Mr Robert Admsterdam. These guys are crooks and thieves.
