Chipolopolo Road Trip To Lesotho Confirmed

chipolopolo busFootball Association of Zambia top management has confirmed Chipolopolo will travel from Johannesburg to Lesotho via Bloemfontein by road for Sunday’s 2014 Brazil World Cup qualifier.

The officials disclosed to bolazambia.com that the team regroups in Johannesburg today and will have a two day training session in Johannesburg after which training camp will shift to Bloemfontein which is a four hour drive.

In Bloemfontein, the border town between South Africa and Maseru, Chipolopolo will set up another training camp up to either Thursday or Friday when the team heads to Maseru by road covering a two hour bus ride.

“We are in Johannesburg for two days so that the team records a full house, no player should be left behind and everyone is expected before we leave for Bloemfontein,” the Football House source said.

Last week, FAZ mouthpiece Erick Mwanza denied reports Chipolopolo would travel to Maseru by road to quell concerns about the organisation of such a trip.

Meanwhile, Collins Mbesuma says Zambia has a lot to prove against Lesotho next weekend to bury memories of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.

Mbesuma said a victory over Lesotho will restore some measure of respectability to the Chipolopolo who fell at the first round of the 2013 campaign and are hoping to amend that heartache with World Cup qualification.

Zambia leads Group D on six points going into the third round of matches.

“We have to go all out because we were very disappointed at the AFCON,” Mbesuma said.

“I think we need to prove this time that we are a better side that we did not win AFCON by luck.

He added: “We are focused for that game and this one (CAF game) was a good preparation for me to get game time. We have to prepare well and we have to win.”

The dethroned kings of Africa travel will be away to Lesotho on March 23 in a Brazil 2014 World Cup qualifier.
Ghana host Sudan another Group D tie.

Zambia today sets up camp in Johannesburg at Milpark Hotel as they prepare for their Maseru encounter.

They can even go by Scotch Cart as long as nothing happens to them. Bleomfointen is less than 2 hrs away from Maseru and it is easier to travel by road than go back to Jozi and get a flight from there in those small and very uncomfortable flights, which can only take at most 17-32 passengers.
Now should something go bad, remember the Gabon disaster, there would be dust, a lot of dust. So as long as you know what you are doing in arranging their flights. Have you the organisers of this trip forgotten how HR complained when we lost in Sudan?
Fyenu ifyo as long as we win. We have a deficit of 7-0, posted by Ghana to better.
