Renard Should GO Now
Dear Editor,In as much as Zambia won the Africa Cup under this Frenchman, Renald has failed to prove to the nation that he is a coach. Perhaps we can say that Zambia were ready to face the 2012 Africa Cup because the man who was fired (Dario Bonetti) not only qualified the team to the Afcon but also assembled a very powerful team which Renald just found without any work done. After winning the cup, Renald has lamentably failed to maintain a strong team Bonetti left.
To prove that Renald is useless but an impostor of a coach who can’t even read a simple game, look at what happened in today’s march against Lesotho who were easily beaten by Ghana 7-0. During the march, Fwayo Tembo played well during the first minutes but later on, this man became a passenger as the game progressed. A coach with sight was supposed to substitute this man but alas he couldn’t see anything. It had to take the red card of Mweene for this twit to see that Fwayo was a liability and was only substituted when it was already too late (Zambia became down by one man).
In front, the only powerful striker we had was Collins Mbesuma who was constantly being monitored by two defenders. Mbesuma was a big threat in the game and he proved his worth by scoring. The useless Renald immediately substituted the man who just scored. At first we were shocked by this substitute because Mbesuma was not even tired. We eventually thought perhaps the coach wanted to defend the lone goal but again instead of introducing a defender for this task, he brought in the inexperienced Mukuka Mulenga who plays in the upfront. It then became very clear to everyone that Renald didn’t understand what was going on. But surely why sacrifice Mbesuma? What point was Renald trying to prove? Or perhaps Lesotho paid him to kill our game. He should have substituted people like Chris Katongo who had no impact in the game. Renald’s gross incompetence eventually yielded fruits to the underdogs Lesotho. They scored with just a couple of minutes to go.
Is this man a professional coach? It’s very clear Renald is just an impostor, the earlier he is sacked the better for the national team. Under his leadership, I don’t think Zambia will qualify to the World Cup. We can bet. The man knows nothing. He doesn’t know how to read games which even a simple soccer fan can do. Renald is just wasting tax payers money. The earlier we realize this the better for the national team. As Renald goes, let us this time around settle for a local coach like Patrick Phiri. These foreigners just come to chew the money. As we settle for this coach, let’s give them the same incentives the way we do to expatriate coaches who have always disappointed us. They are the ones who better understand our players.

I totally agree with the author of this article, for so many times has Renard made blunders like the one he made in yesterdys game, infact Renard must be sucked and be replaced with Catherine Phiri period! “if you know what an sayin” Chikala cha wishi aletunyengelafye bagelo besu abasuma!

Mbesuma was tagging atleast 2 players everytym he was on the ball that shud have worked to compliment the 1 man deficit.But our “tactical coach” opted to remove his most priced asset .That change was very costly

But the sub made was not Mukuka Mulenga,HR brought on William Njobvu who dint even hav a feel of the ball.
HR only needed to remove Chris for young Mukuka and Fwayo for Sakuwaha.
Those subs where PATHETIC!!

We must fire the coach and also disband this TP Chipolopolo. We can’t have a national team that is only as good or as bad as TP Mazembe. The players whose game has continued to decline after AFCON 2012 include Nathan Sinkala, Himoonde Hichani, Rainford Kalaba, Emmanuel Mayuka and obviously Christopher Katongo. We should stop planning our success around these players – they are not as good as we think. If by any chance we qualify for Brazil we’ll just embarrass the continent with these boys. Some opponent will hammer us 10-0. I even fear for our return match against Ghana. Those boys are firing. Then there’s a potential loss to Sudan at home -ala Bwafya!!

Stop blaming the coach, he did his work. Its the players who were not in form. I didn’t see Kalaba though he was on the pitch. The only mistake HR made was the mbesuma substution.

My honest opinion is that renard’s record after the 2012 Africa cup has been very disappointing to say the least. can someone seriously convince me as to why we should continue with him recieving all that salary when he is not producing? why should we praise him when he is not derlivering good results? Does it mean that our levels of appreciating the best have suck so low so much that we should be happy with failure? No! no! no!. ba chishimba do something, you were qouted as saying that you will not accept anything other than a win..Renard sold the game.

The writer started well, but spoiled his cry by stating who should take over and that they be paid expatriate salaries. Local couches have always disppointed us. And expatriates earn more than locals anywhere in the world because they export their skills.

Bring back dario bonneti,the italian knew how to read each player.He made good use of mayuka with appropriate combinations,this rena is a fluke.he should put the blame on himself,the players were poorly combined.

My blame goes to Kalu,too much control of the team.Renar cant just decide by him self,That team will continue becoming popular like MMD.Kambwili should put those Guys in Zalawi on their way back.Thatz y i have stopped paying tax.

yes i agree too much influence on team selection from kalu, kalu leave the coach alone to do his job or else world cup qualification will remain a pipe dream for zambia and the remaining games are very tough.

H.Renard should go.I totally agree with the author of this article.Mbesuma was the Man of the match for Zambia.Our Country has better players than the way HR is lining up.If the midfild was anchored by Justine Zulu ,we can not allow such silly goal which was identical to the one we conceded against Sudan.

For your own information, patrick phiri was coach before and we never won the Africa cup nor did we qualify for the world cup, the players let us down, Mbesuma was good but he need support from another player who could take advantage of the 2 defenders marking Mbesuma, Clifford mulenga is not doing wonders at his club, what can he do for the national team, by the way, it had to take the very last game for Zambia to qualify for the Africa cup we won (thats when bonetti was aruond) so lets not not put it like we were winning big time when he was in charge. They are just too many players in the team who are off form, lets pray they do catch up otherwise, which other player can be called to make an impact, what did fwayo tembo do, nothing

no coach can teach anyone how to score; a coach only teaches hoe top create scoring opportunities, scoring is up to the player. Leave Renard alone!

I agree with the Author of this article. Point of correction Mukuka didn’t play. Yes Mbesuma wasn’t supposed to be substituted. He was a threat and all the defenders were there to mark him hence making an opening for other strikers to score. Herve Reina MUST quit.

Zambia National Soccer Team didn’t play with passion. They seem not to e committed. Only Mbesum played well. Katongo was off form. He should have been substituted instead of Mbesuma. Iam now beginning to wander if our coach is really qualified.
