Nevers Mumba: If SATA Gets Sick, I Will Pray For Him

Dr. Nevers Mumba

The opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) deputy General Secretary Kuchunga Simusamba says PF Secretary General Wynter Kabimba’s allegations that UPND wants President Michael Sata dead, as symptoms of political rabbies while MMD president Dr. Nevers Mumba says as a pastor he has an obligation to pray for Sata’s recovery when he falls sick. Mumba says he would want to defeat a physically fit Sata in the 2016 presidential elections.

The two leaders were reacting to Kabimba’s allegations at a rally in Kapiri Mposhi on Saturday that UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema and his MMD counterpart were hoping for Sata to die but God had kept him alive to shame them. Kabimba told the people of Kapiri Mposhi that both Mumba and Hichilema were liars. Kabimba and Sata failed to address real issues in kapiri Mposhi but concentrated on defending Sata’s illness.

“Wynter Kabimba is suffering from political rabbies and this is dangerous, we have never wished Mr. Sata dead because he is not our party president, not even our member and we are not even the ones who told the nation that Sata was sick, it was upon the fate that befell him when he was evacuated by the late President Mwanawasa,” said Simusamba.

And Mumba said it is unfair for Sata and Kabimba to drag his name into stone age politics as he has never talked about Sata’s illness but was only praying for the ailing dictator to heal in line with his faith and responsibility as a pastor.

“To begin with, I have never talked about Mr. Sata’s illness. I am above that level of politics but if Mr. Sata is sick I have a responsibility to pray for him so that he recovers, I would be more confortable to defeat him in good health in 2016,” said Dr. Mumba.

Bwana Nevers, even when you get sick, someone will pray for you. It is just normal, but who knows, you could get sick yourself before he does.

Nevers if you are not careful with the creator of all mankind, you may not live to see Michael’s death instead he will live to see yours. Who told you that Michael can become sick and subsquently he dies before you yourself come become one?

While the saying of Dr Nevers Mumba that he above that level of politics is contradictory one as by 2016 Dr Nevers Mumba is likely to be vice president to HH.
Further if Mutati will be around MMD is likely to split and Dr Nevers Mumba may not be its president if he does MMD is not winning party any more.
