Kabimba: Sata Building On KK’s Legacy

By STEVEN MVULA
PRESIDENT Sata is building on the legacy of founding President Kenneth Kaunda to restore Zambians’ dignity, Patriotic Front (PF) secretary general Wynter Kabimba has said.
Mr Kabimba said Dr Kaunda left a solid foundation which the MMD allegedly destroyed in 20 years through greed and theft.
“President Sata is restoring the dignity of Zambians and unifying the country just like KK did,” he said.
Mr Kabimba, who is also Minister of Justice, was speaking in an interview yesterday.
He said Dr Kaunda’s era cannot in any way be compared to the MMD’s resign.
“The MMD was an era of thievery, plunder and complete disregard of the welfare of the people,” Mr Kabimba said.
He said President Sata’s administration is following a path Dr Kaunda followed of creating jobs, unifying the nation, offering education and health services and developing infrastructure.
“As PF, we are building on KK’s foundation. We want to make this nation a better place for all,” Mr Kabimba said.
Mr Kabimba said the PF will not allow a small group of people to benefit at the expense of the masses like the MMD did.

It cannot be true more than this. PF is the only govt that has emulated Dr Kaunda in tertms of development no question about it. Every body knows it only that a small group of pipo have chosen to be blind to the core.

IF thats the case bring back the leadership code.i know no leader wants to talk about it.But this is the only way we can solve the abuse of office and corruption cases ,otherwise nothing will change.

I appreciate all the Pf is doing, however I plead we aren’t taken to the days of lining up for foodstuffs, the head of statutory bodies being party cadres and relatives, a constitution which is a party constitution and lastly if you gain wealth privately its an offence as I intend to be richer then the gvt!I rest my case.

Kaunda is not God so only dictators like Sata and Kabimba need his dictatorial legacy. PF will not succeed in taking our country this ****** one party state they now prize so much. Thank God both Sata and Kabimba are sick so they should be departing soon from the face of mother Zambia.

Now I understand why we have these meal meal shortages. By the way Mr Kabimba, Sata was part of the MMD for 10 years as no three. And this is the time when we had massive “thievery, plunder. Maybe complete disregard of poeple’s welfare came during thr MMD of RB.

Pf is not worried only pipo who never voted for it are the ones yapping the loudest. While new members are being recruited in daily bases. Mind you its a game of mumbers while conviction and embressing new mbembers is the medicine.

But Kabimba is a lost cause. What legacy is he talking about?FTJ is a product of Kaunda’s intolerance.KK spent 27 years harrassing his opponents. The problem i have with Kabimba is that he considers it an obligation to comment unceasingly.Sometimes just keep quiet when you have nothing to say.

The school where you got to understand the language you’re talking was built by Dr Kaunda within a short period of time from 1964-1967 massive infrastracture was built across the widith and breath of this country . That is what Mr Sata is emulating.

Am getting concerned by these comments comming from a high ranking government person. Kaunda is mutually respected for being one of our founding fathers. But he is very unpopular with many who suffered at the hands of the now infamous party UNIP including Kabimba himself. I thought he is intelligent enough to avoid Kaunda’s name inorder for him not to be considered a copyrite. Good managers avoid to much references to their predecessors. Zambias want actions and not big talks.

The only thing PF is emulating is to bring back the one party state. I thought Kabimba will tell us about the interview with ACC ,how they cleared him and his ambition to replace SATA as prez!

Each of these leaders you are talking about all have issues.
Firstly KK pioneered the struggle for independence we have lived in peace ever since. The downside of his reign was the abuse of money from Zambia Airway and ZCCM. There was no control,ZCCM and Zambia Airways Management were just pocketing a lot of the resources which should have continued to improve the public infrastructure. They only sponsored their relatives for education abroad, whilst the bright young people from poor families were left to fend for themselves.

FTJ Chiluba fought for the rights and calls for the workers at ZCTU introduced multi-democracy in the country and the SADC. His down fall was lack of control of government and politicians resulting into abuse of office and corruption.

President Sata was party of the Government under Chiluba. He was at the top of the establishment. He supported the third term bid by Mr Chiluba. He travelled far and wide around the country ”evangelising” about the third term, but when he realised he would not have the chance to be president, when Mr Mwanawasa was adpoted, he left MMD. Mr Sata was party of UNIP and MMD who have both abused office. Why would you wait for ten years to realize that there was corruption?

It is not right for Mr Kabimba to claim that Mr Sata is building on the foundation that KK left because UNIP was booted out government by the Zambians in 1991.The zambian people spoke loudly against the abuse of power and government resources by UNIP. Again the Zmabians in 2011 spoke but not loud enough to give the PF an overwhelming victor of the election. The reason was simple, Zambians do not trust politicians and all these politicians are all recycled. They do not bring any fresh ideas. What PF should do is give people what they promised would give people within 90 days.
