BRITAIN could be forced to accept unemployed migrants from the rest of Europe, Brussels chiefs declared yesterday.
The European Commission said there was “no evidence” that they would take jobs from British nationals.
It also insisted that immigrants should have the same access to benefits as people already living here — and even be shown how to do it.
But David Cameron last night vowed to bring in new laws to stop jobless foreigners sponging off the taxpayer.
In highly provocative comments, EU employment commissioner Laszlo Andor said: “With much higher levels of unemployment in some member states than others, it is all the more important to make it easier for those who want to work in another EU country to be able to do so.”
Mr Andor also accused the UK Government of “inflating” the number of immigrants it expects to come to Britain.
The Migration Watch think tank said: “The 2.5million Britons who are unemployed need this like a hole in the head.”
Mr Cameron last month announced that immigrants who are out of work for six months will see their benefits axed.
They will also go to the back of the council house queue and have their health costs clawed back from their own countries.
Last night the PM confirmed his proposals will be in next month’s Queen’s Speech — setting him on a collision course with Brussels.

Of what interest is this story to us here in Zambia? Is Britain intending to send some itinerant people here?
