Zambia bench is excited with news that Stopilla Sunzu is kicking the ball for the first time since his May 10 knee surgery.
The TP Mazembe defender joined his Zambia team mates on Monday morning in training passing the ball without any incident ahead of Saturday’s 2014 World Cup Group D qualifier against Sudan at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.
However, Sunzu was later excused from full-contact practice.
Sunzu then retreated to the running track where he undertook sprints for the first time since joining camp on June 4 after spending all of last week exercising alone and also restricted to just light jogging.
“From the technical side we are yet to get a full report from the medical staff,” Zambia technical director Honour Janza said at the end on morning training at Levy Stadium.
“So whatever he is doing is under the guidance of the medical team.
“If he touching the ball, then it is part of the medical teams’ recommendation until they hand him over to the technical team.”

I hope the coach will not gamble with our winning team but I trust he will do a good job. We can’t just lose at our Estadio de Levy.
