Ndola School Girl Collapses After Corporal Punishment from Teacher

A 17-year-old Grade nine pupil of Twatasha basic school in Ndola’s Pamodzi township on Tuesday collapsed after she was beaten by her teacher for reporting late for school.

A check at the school by ZANIS found irate Pamodzi residents throwing stones at the school in protest and the teacher only identified as a Mr Kangwa was hidden in fear of being beaten by the residents.

Pupils who narrated the story to the media (who rushed to the scene) said their teacher (a Mr. Kangwa) was fond of beating pupils.

“Two girls, one from grade eight and the other a grade nine came late for school. So Mr Kangwa called them and asked them why they came late, before they could respond, Mr Kangwa got a hose-pipe and started beating them like he was beating his own children, he whipped the grade nine girl until she collapsed and fainted,” narrated the pupils.

The pupils said the 17-year-old girl was quickly rushed to a nearby clinic where she regained consciousness.

Yes, those are his own children & he must not beat them for being late. Let the teachers give other forms of corrective means as beating & scolding only hardens our children’s hearts.

This teacher is a sadistic & must be prosecuted for assaulting the kid.
Pamodzi residents beat the f.uck out of him if he is not arrested.

Pupils nowadays are becoming difficult to control because of lack of the human rights issues. We are Africans and are brought up in an African way. Western kinds of punishments do not have any positive effect on unruly pupils. This teacher loves the kids just lyk our mothers who used to beat the hell out of us. So he wants them to pass and become useful citizens. Lets support our loving foster parents (teachers) before we end up having a decayed generation.

Awe, I think the girl refused his advances. Teachers have become abusers these days.

Long John ‘underwear’, this is not the 1970s and 1980s when parents used to beat the sh!t out of children. I suffered at the hands of my mother despite that from grade 1 I was an achiever. Most of my beatings were because I didn’t clean the plates after meals on time or relish left on the fire got burnt while I got carried away with my friends playing.
The above behaviour by parents of beating their children is barbaric and I remained scared as I had a hard talk with my mother after I grew up and had my own children.
My 2 children have not been perfect, but they are good children just like most and all they have needed from time to time is talking to and sanctioning whenever they stray.
Physical abuse of children has long lasting adverse consequences.
Any teacher who physically abuse my child will land in jail for sure and I can afford the best lawyers.

The chap shud be frustrated with his private affairs. Why inflict pain to the girl child? He shud be suspended or transferred to a remote area so that witches deal with him.

That beating was extreme. To the point of fainting! Does this teacher even have a child of his own. He didn’t even give the children chance to explain why they were late. Suppose it was a genuine reason.
