South African President Jacob Zuma has cancelled a trip to Mozambique on Thursday after visiting former leader Nelson Mandela, 94, who remains critically ill in a Pretoria hospital.
Mr Mandela, South Africa’s first black president, has been in hospital since 8 June with a recurring lung infection.
Mr Zuma was briefed by doctors who were doing everything possible to ensure Mr Mandela’s well-being, a statement said.
On Tuesday, a cleric prayed for Mr Mandela’s “peaceful end”.
Also visiting on Tuesday was Mr Mandela’s daughter Zindzi, who said her father had “opened his eyes and smiled”.

My the all merciful God grant a peaceful end to this great son of Africa. God forgive him for whatever shortcomings he had as a human being. He forgave those who jailed him and caused him the lung infection he has suffered from for so long.

This man did what most human beings can not do,forgiving those who treated him like an animal, but when he came out of jail after 27 years he reunited the country and embrassing every one including his enermies. What kind of love is this?he for sure learnt this kind of love from our almight king jesus who forgave his enermies on the cross of calvary by stating that forgive them father for they do not know what they are doing. It is my hope that God will remember this man for this rear gesture which he did to fellow men despite all they did to him.Madiba rest in peace the world will live to remember the best example you did to human kind,You never clang to power but just after one term you left the presidency seat, how i wish even other presidents can emmulate you.Go well son of africa we will always love you.

He has been my inspiration ever since, cos of what he has achieved in life. We cannot compare him to any leader in the world at large. A person who was willing to die just for the freedom of his country men and women who were denied freedom by the whites. We will miss this true son of Africa. I do not know how I can describe this great man of Africa. MHSRP.
