Another terrible accident has just happened at 10 miles in Chibombo district…head on collision involving a Rosa Bus and Hiace.
We have not yet ascertained the number of people who have perished in this accident infested district but many people have lost their lives. May the souls of the departed rest in eternal peace.

Where are our first responders when such things happen? 10 miles is so near. i bet you half those people lying on the ground were probably still alive long after the accident happened. This foolish practice of declaring people dead and covering them just because they look lifeless is only found in Africa. I have never seen an accident where people tried to revive someone. We should make first aid training mandatory in all our schools. We can save thousands of lives.

Drivers especially mini bus chaps are just careless on the roads. These small buses shud be banned from moving from town to town.Overloading.There is no curse involved here, its just carelessness on the part of drivers.MAY THEIR SOULS REST IN PEACE.

That stretch of the rd is usually congested with heavy guds vehicles that move in long convoys. The miscalculated urge by most bus drivers to overtake these convoys is the major cause of accidents.OVERTAKING is a superiority complex 2 most drivers (not only bus drivers).

Very myopic thinking!
The number of road users has increased without corresponding infrastructure upgrades to accommodate this increase. Accidents are caused, and most of these are driver errors due to misjudgements.
A long term solution is a revolutionary upgrade of our roads and strict enforcement of road rules, especially for passenger carrying vehicles.

the road from Kapiri to Lsk is choked by modern traffic volume, creating a bottle neck. Leaders, expand this road asap and design separate truck lanes, both sides..

I wonder why they opted to renovate the Ndola Kitwe dual carriage way instead of making the new dual carriage way between lusaka and ndola and between chingola and solwezi. The ndola kitwe road rehabilitation is a waste of time and resources for now because they should have directed the efforts to the areas in dire need of the extra roads.

90% of accidents on great north road involve buses. what is the reason to this because buses are not the only road users. something fishy i suspect.its either there is vampire sucking human blood or something wrong with the drivers and the owners of the buses. i cant just believe this. can we say divers of these other vehicles are more competent than bus drivers? are we saying ma bus ya fiwa. God help us. Lets try dual system of roads maybe or lets go Zambia railways.

Dual carriage way from Livingstone to Chingola and make Slowezi Chingola four lane.Just build big things as your favourite ally, KK, did. Ther will be enough money if you stop the craziness of forced bye-elections. You will have promoted what people want: development and freddom of political choice.

The truth is let RTSA intensify road blocks especially for PSV drivers (lives are in their hands) You may find the rightfull driver is somewhere enjoying his beer and has given the half drunk inexperienced conductor to drive his bus. This is now getting out of hand.

Mwebantu let the government think seriously about a dual caraige way. otherwise this problem will never end. Such type of accidents can be eliminated if the pipo in authority realy listen to the cry voices for the need of good roads which can accomodate the rise in traffic

One would wonder what is wrong with our drivers! this accident happened at Savana Lodge right on top of the hill and i expected drivers to slow down and maintain the respective lanes. Its not about Chibombo being a cursed area but heavy traffic between Kabwe and Lusaka. I the buses at the scene yesterday around before 17 hrs.

This road has nothing to do with people being sacrificed as its plain and simple!! It’s not a dual carriage way,the lanes are oo narrow and its a curve, the road has room for expansion so the govt needs to do something bout this rather urgently and people should not rush to in saying oh they’ve been sacrificed, how illiterate ,have more faith in your God,typical zed attitudes

ABOUT 50 miners at Konkola Copper Mines (KCM) Number Four Shaft in Chililabombwe cheated death after they were gassed underground by a burning cable which resulted in smoke engulfing the levels at which they were working.
The miners, who included KCM employees and contractors from various companies, were, however, evacuated to safety and subsequently admitted to Konkola Mine Hospital where they were being treated and observed.
The accident that occurred around 15:00 hrs attracted the attention of Chililabombwe District Commissioner, Stuart Chitumbo, who visited the admitted miners at the hospital’s male, female and children’s wards.
Mr Chitumbo found the patients coughing while some complained of chest and head pains.
The miners were placed on drips and nil orally which entails non consumption of food or liquids for 24 hours whilst being observed.
Davis Chikwamo, a Grinaker LTA Shift Boss, told the District Commissioner that the cable started burning at Number 4 Shaft’s level 1430 and the smoke spread to level 1390 and the ventilation shaft rendering the miners with nowhere to escape.
Mr Chitumbo hailed the rescue team and the Mine Hospital staff for responding swiftly to the situation to avoid fatalities.
He said the scenario was encouraging as it showed that KCM was always ready to respond to accidents in a professional manner.
The hospital was thronged with relatives of the affected miners and it took alert security staff to keep vigil to prevent congestion in the wards

Being a christian nation we only need to turn to God for the solution some areas once an accidents happen
for 2 or 3 times and claims lives they become black sports eg a stretch between cams and nakadoli on chingola rd in kitwe.kaulafuta area during UNIP was like chibombo. At KPF along kwacha rd in kitwe another black sport hardly a week passes withuot accident so
lets apportion blame on any present or former leaders
tho a dual carriage way would go a long way in alleviating accidents a challenge to every one of us especially the men of God we have in this country.
