Zambia national team midfielder Mukuka Mulenga has finally sealed his move to South African PSL Club Mamelodi Sundowns after protracted negotiations.

Power Dynamos and Sundowns had initially failed to agree terms but Sundowns are reported to have come back with an improved offer which was acceptable to Power.

“I am happy for the lad [Mukuka], he really wanted this and Power are also happy with the offer, it’s a done deal,” the Zamfoot source stated.

On the availability of Mukuka for the CHAN qualifier in Botswana, he stated that he was optimistic Mukuka would play.

“Its one of the things they were looking at on the contract…. whether he would play in Botswana or not, but I think he will play,” he said.

Mukuka the reigning Zambian footballer of the year was part of Zambia’s 2013 AFCON squad and played a key role in the World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Sudan in June in the absence of Rainford Kalaba.

The 20 year old play maker further went on to win the player of the tournament award during the just ended Cosafa Cup tournament played in Lusaka.

He is currently with the Zambia national team preparing for the CHAN qualifier against Botswana on Saturday 27th July.

He joins Kennedy Mweene at Sundowns and will have to compete for a starting place against the likes of Teko Modise in the attacking midfield role.
