Kasama Man Commits Suicide Over a Chicken

A 53 year old man of Musenga Township in Kasama, Northern Province has allegedly committed suicide after a domestic quarrel with his son over the selling of a chicken. The man identified as Abraham Mwaba is believed to have given his son a chicken to sale on his behalf at K30 but after selling it, he only gave his father K10 making him upset and finally taking his life.

Zambia Police Service Acting Public Relations Officer Rae Hamoonga says the deceased was found hanging from an avocado tree near his house.

Just like Tongas over cows, they sleep with them, eat them, kill for them and even commit suicide for them.

His son,the chicken and k10 are alive.

He must have been very expectant of something not money from the sale of a chicken worth taking his own life.

No matter what the issues maybe taking one’s life should NEVER be the solution. Now that he is gone, who will take care of his children? What is K30 anyway? May our God Jehovah be the solution to all our fundamental issues of life.

Ba Tumfweko…..Its money and NOT the chicken that led to him committing suicide. But whats the advice for, coz knowing your editor he had the following headlines:
    1. Avocado tree kills a Kasama man
    2. Son leads to father’s death
    3. Man dies over a K20
    4. Village chicken kills a kasama man, etc

    DULL!!!! Just saying!!!

this man killed himself not because of the money for the chicken which was deducted. he killed himself because the deep disappointment of his own son as far as disobedience was concerned. probably this could be the son he trusted and loved most among them but has turned out to be bad, and they have been having running battles for some time.

anyway, he shouldn’t have taken his life.

“Kasama Man Commits Suicide Over a Chicken” Nope! it about “Kasama Man Commits Suicide Over MONEY” the chicken had nothing to do with his death as it was long sold…and thats just my opinion.

Please bloggers this is sad please let’s not make fun of a parent! Recall the woman in the bible story who gave the few pennies she had to the Lord. The K20 may not mean much to those of us in cities who may not know real poverty and value of K1. The chicken may have been the only asset and for the man to reach a decision point that it be sold to raise the money is beyond what we understand of the whole story. My prayer is for his soul to be received with forgiveness by the Creator
