Photo Of the Day: Witch Crash Lands In The Maize Field

maize fieldA witch recently caused a stir when she was found in her birthday suit

Sabina  confessed that she was a witch and said that she fell from a flying saucer coming from an overnight trip.

She was found in the back yard maize field. She pleaded with the crowd not to beat her up saying she had also visited several houses.

One of the people who saw her early in the morning is Mrs Alice (37) who said she was woken up around 2a.m when she heard a woman’s screams.

“When I saw her in her birthday suit I threw salt on her face and she fell down and started writhing on the ground. We called the police and she was taken away.”

Police confirmed that the witch was taken away and would get psychiatric help.

This is half baked information, where on earth did this happen, and for Mrs Alice who told you that when such a thing occurs you have to throw salt on the face.this leaves more answers than the question itself.

Poor reporting indeed, for your story to carry substance, you would have mentioned where it occurred. Its like one starts climbing a tree from the leaves how can that happen?

A Highfield man in Zimbabwe allegedly raped one of the two women who had seen him masturbating in a maize field.

Charles Munyumwa (45) chased the women and one of them stumbled and fell to the ground before Munyumwa choked her until she became unconscious. He then raped the helpless 29-year-old-woman.

The victim and her friend went to their maize field and were surprised to see Munyumwa masturbating.
It is alleged the two women started running away while Munyumwa followed in hot pursuit. One of them slipped and fell down and it is the State’s case that Munyumwa grabbed the woman by the neck until she was unconscious.

He then dragged her into the maize field where he raped her, the court heard. According to the State papers, the woman’s friend continued running while screaming for help.
The woman later gained consciousness and found Munyumwa gone. She also discovered that her pants had been removed, it is alleged. The woman reported to the police.

Ba Tumfweko can’t you educate the Zambian readers that the woman is suffering from very serious neurotic or psychotic condition and needs our sympathy and care. How can an individual who looks like that be in a position to even carry out witchcraft activities?
Am however impressed with the police reaction for indicating positively that the lady will be referred to a mental hospital for assessment. She must be a well-known mentally-ill lady from some surrounding communities ,somebody some where knows her and she requires urgent protection by Government agencies .Please let us look after our sick in society. Bear in mind that today it is her suffering ,tomorrow it might be you or me in the same maize field.

Fairy tales!! that is clearly a picture of a human being in need of help, the police did the right thing. We are a nation in critical need of sensitisation and education on issues of mental illness. Too many of our brothers and sisters are needlessly being beaten, stoned or even killed because of such prejudice. Articles like this do not help matters. Instead of covering her she choose to throw salt, ubu tutu at its best.
