STATEMENT BY HON. GEOFFREY BWALYA MWAMBA (GBM)
MINISTER OF DEFENCE, KASAMA CENTRAL-MP
PRESIDENT MICHAEL CHILUFYA SATA’S 2016 ENDORSEMENTS
A. Introduction
Committed Patriotic Front (PF) members across the country have continued to express their confidence in the leadership of His Excellency President Michael Chilufya Sata. President Sata is leading an ambitious and successful national economic development programme with Zambia experiencing unprecedented economic growth, infrastructure development like the Link Zambia 8000, new hospitals, schools and universities which have translated in public and private sector job creation. So, we unambiguously endorse President Sata as PF’s sole candidate for 2016.
B. Our call for endorsements is a Call for Unity
Our calls to endorse President Sata as PF’s sole candidate for 2016 will guarantee unity in PF under his able leadership. We expected all PF members and colleagues in Government to welcome this call but sadly vicious attacks came from some in PF and Fred M’membe’s Post Newspaper, not from Opposition parties. The Post Newspaper is busy discrediting President Sata’s endorsements by maliciously targeting my personality and the business I’ve worked to build all my life through hard work, sweat and toil. Zambians must reject the Post Newspaper’s malicious plan to impose their anointed puppets to take over from President Sata.
C. What President Sata’s 2016 Endorsement Campaign focuses on
The endorsement drive will guarantee victory for PF in 2016 since President Sata is very popular nationwide. Sadly, the Post Newspaper has waged a vicious war to paint this campaign “black” because their interests are threatened. There is only one camp in PF – the one led by President Sata who needs our daily support. PF members must therefore not be victimized for openly supporting President Sata.
D. Substance of the Endorsement versus Politics of Personalities
Endorsements are a vote of confidence in President Sata’s visionary leadership. My appeal to PF members including those with hidden agendas sponsored by Fred M’membe’s Post Newspaper is that endorsing President Sata’s sole candidacy doesn’t warrant vilifying and victimization of the proponents.
E. Conclusion
Let’s engage in a civil and democratic debate. President Sata is leading and we all remain inadequate for President. PF will not accept self-imposed “feeble” messiahs sponsored by their masters at the Post Newspaper. We call on all PF members and citizens from branches, wards, constituencies, districts, provinces and national structures of the party to openly endorse President Sata’s sole candidacy for 2016.

What does the constitution say?
MCS is entitled to 2 five year terms in office.
What is worrying is the silence from MCS.
He does not need endorsement and he can tell everybody to stop this debate.
What is worrying me is the Hooliganism taking root in this country.
Thugs are now taking advantage in the name of PF and dispossessing ordinary citizens of titled land.
I think senior PF leadership needs to speak out and restore sanity in these matters!

I think as much as i would love 2 c MCS standing in 2016 because of his hardword and able leadership, i feel the man shud b let 2 retire n rest n leave politics to young pipo bt not GBM. Wat PF shud b doing now is grooming some1 2 tek over frm MSC. Let the old man rest pliz…
surprised!!!

BENEATH THE WATERS: There’s something GBM and a few others know. They will not say so immediately. But they know something. It will be until March 2014 that the PF and MCS would have gone through half way of their elected five-year term. So why the fuss now about endorsing someone? GBM knows something and he could be regretting that he has indirectly spilled the beans. Frankly speaking few people here in Sikongo care about his businesses.

I remember my teacher advising me that to be a prefect one did not necessarily need to be the most spoken and most noticed…it could just be that quiete and least noticed fellow who can join the prefect ranks…

Mr Minister, we get it, you want the President to have another term. However, in the absence of anyone challenging the President for the 2016 candidacy, it is odd that you would endorse him. The man was barely elected ( some constituencies are probably still counting votes from 2011) and we are already talking about the next election… how about we get down and dirty and deliver on some of those election promises?

MMEMBE HAS GOT HIS OWN IDEAS WHEN YOU CAREFULLY OBSERVED HIM. HE SHALL FIGHT BY ALL MEANS TO LURE THE PARTY AND PUT SOMEONE HE LOVES. I KNOW ONE OF HIS OWN IF YOU CAN DEEPLY WATCH VERY CAREFULLY, YOU SHALL SEE HIM. HE IS OUTSPOKEN, VERY POSITIVELY WANTING MANY PEOPLE TO DEFECT FROM OPPOSITION SO THAT HE CAN HAVE THE MAJORITY IN THE PARTY WHO SHALL SUPPORT HIM AT ALL COST. THIS PERSON SAYS ONE CAN ONLY WIN IF HE OR SHE HAS MANY SUPPORTERS AND BY THE TIME YOU SHALL REALIZE, IT SHALL BE SPEALED MILK ON THE GROUND. IF THE PRESIDENT HAS TOLD THEM THAT HE SHALL NOT CONTINUE BY 2016, THEN THERE IS NO NEED OF REFUSING OTHERS WHO FEEL ARE CAPABLE TO STAND WITHIN THE PARTY.
THE WIFE AND THE FAMILY OF THE PRESIDENT ARE AGAINST ALLOWING HIM TO STAND FOR THE NEXT TERM OF OFFICE, IF HE WAS TO STAND HE WOULD HAVE SPOKEN AND CALLED ALL THE LEADRES TO STOP THE FIGHTINGS WITHIN THE PARTY.

The biggest enemy to PF is members like GBM. Instead of delivering on their campaign promises they are busy bickering within themselves at the expense of development. Word of caution – IF PF does deliver it matters less who stands as their presidential candidate in 2016- they will definitely be on their way out.

GBM is just using the Sata endorsement campaign to draw M’membe’s Plan out into view. Thanks GBM,

GBM WABUFI. The man (GBM) is also very immature. Why should he spend time talking about endorsements when everyone knows that Sata is free to contest next term? People, can you imagine what will happen in Sata’s last term in office? Unless I am missing something, but as far as I know M’membe has no problem and I think he should not be dragged into this shit! I think its GBM himself who wants to come and stand when Sata does the 10 years. He is just positioning himself for the same. All this writing for what? This is just nonsense!

ENDORSEMENT”M C S” GBM knows what he is talking about, there are a group of senior officials within PF who want to take over from MCS,even if MCS might not stand due to what ever reason this is not the best time for people to start talking about taking over from MCS,this is like planing a “coup d,etat” within PF let us be cautious with this mater for GBM to come in the open and condem this act actually he is uniting their party PF time will come for them to start planing take over from MCS,my advice to those who want to take over from MCS is to halt their campain for now and concetrate on serving the people of zambia.

Very interesting that GBM is the head of the Military and by defacto influences Edgar Lungu the head of police but Wynter is only with the courts that do not listen to him. Let us wait and see.
