He explains that government’s world over are reforming the public pension schemes in a bid to give better conditions to the majority retirees who for many years fail to get their retirement package on time.
Mr. Shamenda government is not in support of politicians that want to alarm the nation on simple issues.
He says the Patriotic Front government is committed to ensuring that Zambians have their retirement dues in a quick way than waiting for years to get their gratuities.
Mr Shamenda has since appealed to Mr. Hichilema to seek audience with him if he is to understand the move by government to reform the public service pension scheme

It is you and Shamenda who have a short circuit in your brains. Surely how can you give a retiree 1/3 of their gratuity instead of full package? Why you and Fackwell or is it Fackson reneging against your 90 days campaign promises of lower taxes and paying retirees? What has changed now? Do not blame HH for protecting us. In fact, it is you two who should shut up, punto!

Problem with our leaders is that when someone raises some conerns, they do not look at the concerns raised but the person who raises those concerns and then decide to address that person and not the concerns raised. HH might not be the only one with such concerns over the pension scheme reforms, does it mean that everyone with diferent views should come to your office sir? Since HH has mislead the nation(thats according to your words), why can’t you just give the correct situation so that all of us who have been mislead can have the correct picture?

Mr. Shamenda should understand the logic behind this whole thing of pensions. People should be able to invest their money in more viable activity this is why we are saying let people get the lump sum once they retire. Telling people to seek audience with him to understand pension scheme obtaining in the country is not what people want they want to get money once they have retired, period. This is an emotive issue so he should be reasonable when dealing with it . World over yes countries have resorted to better schemes like allowing people getting loans against their contributions. The Minister’s emotions in handling public issues is something that can cost PF elections.

He does not know any thing related to labour issues. This man called HH should really shut up.If he owes ranches does not mean he is in position to know these issues. DO not cheat your self that Hakainde has following, these are the same words you used tosay DURING THE RUN UP TO 2011 TRIPARTITE ELECTIONS; eeh Hakainde has taken over Lusaka and copperbelt eeh the whole Chawama constituency has defected to UPND but alas all these never came to pass you came distant third. And today you’re consoling yourselves that whatever Hakainde says ,holds water. ALL RUBBISH GET OUT AND HUNG.

HH should firdt learn to listen rather than thinking he knows everything. He tends to make inappropriate commments like the kind he made over training of PF militia in Sudan which was a barefaced lie.

The proposed pension reforms are a ”credit card or loan” type of pensions where the government pays bit by bit the pensioners. what the government needs to explain is what is causing the delays in paying the retirees. Changing from lump sum to monthly payments would not bring any significant benefit to the pensioners. The govt is still struggling with paying the civil servants.
The proposal if implemented, will completed because those pensioners living far away from the city will have to travel to collect their monthly payments, and in most cases government has been know to fail to pay on due dates resulting extra cost for accommodation for the pensioner. Government should first put in place the infrastructure in place to allow pensioners collect their wherever they are in the country. the post office has failed miserably.

What is difficult to understand about pensions you quarks. the problem with you is that anyone who holds a different opinion becomes an enemy to you. Be accommodative and allow debate on national issues.
You heard another lunatic yesterday refuting the assertion that Govt was drawing most supporters to travel with the national team from Lusaka and Copperbelt. what is there to refute when it is a fact? The honorable thing was to accept the oversight and work towards including other provinces in future games.

Monthly contributions?my foot…..when we have observed and told you that there is a serious budget overrun..the first thing you see is Mr. Alexander misleadingly try to convince the nation that there is plan B. Next you extend retirement age to 65, meaning that if granted,10 years from now is 2023 i.e 2 years beyond the much panicked and fantasized about(GBM’s dish)2016-2021 endorsement of UKWA. Realistically,it means those due for retirement now will not get their lump sum immediately and by paying them in instalments, they will have created a potential problem for the subsequent govt. In short there is serious Budget Over-run and they want to buy time until 2021….just a thought…..nevertheless i am retiring.

Animal instincts as usual!
Politicians are not inspiring our children at all.
Why can’t we discuss issues honorably?
Do we always have to resort to insults?
I do agree with PF that reforms are required.
Shamenda does not need to panic when contrary views are expressed.
Why not concentrate on explaining the advantages and disadvantages of each approach to create understanding among stakeholders and create an atmosphere of dialogue?
Ba HH also tends to use language that is too strong!
Leaders are supposed to be builders.
Please emulate Miyanda’s approach when engaging in discussion of issues.

I hear there are a number of financial services a contributing member can access from NAPSA against their pension but these are mulled over and not usually disclosed to the public ostensibly for fear of a run on the institution.

THE THING IS HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE GOING TO REACH THE AGE OF 65 YEARS WITH THIS WORLD FULL OF DEATHS THROUGH ACCIDENTS AND HIV/AIDS, STROCKES AND SUGER DEASES?
THE TRUTH IS THAT THIS MAN SHAME- ENDER (SHAMENEDER) AND HIS PEOPLE DO NOT WANT TO PAY PEOPLE WITHIN TEN YEARS PERIOD THEY THINK THEY WILL STAY IN GOVERNANCE.WHEN ONE REACHES 65 YEARS OLD THE ENJOYMENT OF THE FUNDS WILL NOT BE FELT AND ISNTEADY ONE SHALL REMAIN A BEGGER EVERY AFTER THE 1/3 PART-PAYMENT OF THE SO CALLED PENSION.
