Nkana have been denied a chance of the double this season after green Buffaloes booted them out of the quarterfinals of the 2013 Barclays Cup.
Buffaloes beat Nkana 2-1 at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka to advance to the last eight on October 26 at Arthur Davies Stadium.
Patrick Phiri’s side sealed their passage with two goals in the first half scored by Allan Mukuka and Stephen Kabamba in the 32rd and 42nd minutes respectively.
Zambia striker Festus Mbewe scored Nkana’s consolation deep into time added-on of the 90 minutes.
Nkana’s exit from the Barclays Cup means their only shot at silverware this season lies in the Faz Super Division where they are currently second on the log and one point behind leaders Zesco United.
Meanwhile in the second kickoff at the same venue, three time champions Zesco were stretched it penalties by Division One promotion chasing Choma Eagles before they booked their semifinal place.
Jackson Mwanza fired Nkana ahead in the 4th minute before Mwelwa Mwila levelled scores in the 73rd minute.
Zesco then kept their nerve to win 4-2 on post-match penalties to join Buffaloes, Nchanga Rangers and Red Arrows in the last four.
